EMs a bugger to maintain?? Who the hell said that??
get the machine working by methodically going through it ONCE and it will be trouble free for years.
As for world fair?? Geez mate - ya cant go wrong! If you dont snap it up then guaranteed therell be a queue behind you that will and you will always regret your decision.
On a side note..... Hows the arcade on Brighton Pier?? I used to be let loose in that place as a boy with a bag of change.
I bought a Midway Monster Gun cos i remembered it from then. I have some fantastic memories of Brighton all lit up at night and the arcade.... what a place that was!
Like everywhere else the Pinball machine has had to give way to other kinds of amusement equipment. The stuff That I talk of are video screened bandits which take far more money and need virtually no up keep and of course take up little floor space. And also those crane things that the prize inside is far to big for the claw to pick up, thus impossible to win on. But that doesn't stop people pumping coin after coin in the bloody things.
When we where kid's the amusement arcades where a place that you could go to have a great time without spending a whole lot of money. These days arcades at seaside resorts only cater for one thing, to rob you of your money the quickest way possible.
You are very lucky these days to find a pin at any resort but they are out there but not in the quantities that we remember as youngsters. In the U.K. you can find the odd Stern machine here and there but you have to look quite hard and they are not in every arcade like the used to be.
Sounding a little like a grump old git, I think I have just turned into my Dad.
At least we where there to enjoy the "good old days"
Darren.
