I hoped to take some pics of removing the mylar but my camera went flat and could not find the bloody charger!!
I did this work about a week ago, turned the house upside down today and finally found the charger, so was able to take these pics.
Still got to finish cleaning the cabinet, seal the backglass, polish legs and replace playfield glass. This will do for time being until I get another machine, this playfield still needs holes and artwork restored, but is a lot nicer to look at now.
Thanks for all the encouragement.

Cheers
Dave

There is a small wear spot from where the ball lands from the left eject hole, will the wax protect this in the short term or should I be putting something down to protect against further wear?  !@#

I dont have any mylar, but have some clear contact, I could put a small piece down on the landing zone from each eject hole?

hell that looks good, now thats a good buy!!!..I have used just contact to protect from ball landings on a T2 and a GTB countdown ,it's soft and dings from the ball but EZ to remove and replace and would do more than polish. You can always try and if the looks don't please you just remove knowing there will be no damage lifting it.

that is...

...beautiful. A tilt unit that now looks like the insides of an antique clock!

Wow, I don't think I have the patience to polish anything up like that!

Cheers
