I must add to the previous post that the neck was painted too. For some reason i forgot to take a pic of the finished product. You will get a glimpse of that later.  @.@

Anyway, in between coats on the cab and hbox i used my time efficiently and started to prepare the legs for undercoat and then to go on with the top coat.

I stripped the legs back to bare metal of its ugly white paint. I gave them a light sand, cleaned them with Shellite and was on my way to spray the undercoat.

The first coat was a coat of spray putty and undercoat as one. Its a filler putty and undercoat in the one can. It fills and hides any little imperfections if applied correctly. Put it this way i was very happy with it.

What no overspray on the fence or the house  *.*  you must be doing something wrong  *)*

I try and be real carefully Daniel but don't worry i make a mess at times too  !  %.%

Can't help myself !

Thanks Evro... however that is not a tv trolley mate. The bottom half is half of an old make up stand that the wife was planning on throwing away which once i saw it i knew what it could be used for and the top half is a cut off from an old laminate kitchen bench top which served my purpose.  &&

Put a couple of L brackets on the bottom of the leg where it meets the base for support, 4 ply strips screwed from underneath the top which rest on the legs and have a look at her now !  ^^^  #@#  ()

Multi purpose movable workable trolley, especially made for my pinball resto's !  %.%

2 coats of the undercoat was applied and then sanded ready for the top/final coats.

Another 'pinfan' off the wayward way of thinking moment, i chose to spray the legs not with the traditional Bally charcoal however i chose a metallic charcoal. Its a shade or 2 darker than the traditional Bally charcoal but has metallic in it...

I love this colour as i had experimented previously on Bally legs. They come up a treat and i was very impressed with the final finish so i chose to stick with it !

I decided early on that i wanted to finish the cabinet before the playfield got a looking into.

So with cab ready for the artwork and the legs all painted up it was time to finish the cab !

Instead of then conventional make your own or purchase new stencils i decided to.........

um....eeerrr....well.... do decals..... there i said it !  !@)

After one of my previous restores, with making my own stencils and repainting the cab i wanted to go in the direction of decals. I spent way to much time creating the stencils and repainting the cab.

A big thank you to 2 very kind gentlemen who helped me with the process of redoing and printing the artwork. No money was exchanged for the re-creation or the printing of this artwork.. Very kind gestures from 2 very kind gentlemen. Again a BIG thank you !

So i had decals printed up....

This is why the cabinet and headbox had a light paint !  && &&

Pics of the decals...

I'm the first to admit that I don't particularly approve of decals on these classics  @@^

however, they are 1000 X better than a white cabinet, and the machine will look great when finished.

Keep the updates coming, Marco. Great work so far !

I'd like to add that I would never discourage anyone from using Marco's techniques using decals. I know he is a perfectionist, so if it is good enough for him - then it must be 10/10 !

Anyone remember wotto's magical Black Knight ?  ^^^
