A little more TOTAN ( Jackpot Decal )
« on: July 18, 2009, 09:57:00 PM »
The JACKPOT insert decal on my TOTAN  is a little 'messy'

I am going to have a go at re-drawing the wording and then getting Rollerball to print the black for me on his waterslide paper.
I am quite used to drawing bigger images - this small stuff is difficult.
See how it turns out I guess.

This is all being done by guesswork as I have no image of this area

Heres some progress today
By the time I am done - all the blacks and whites will be distictively black or white- not like they are at the moment if you look closely.

Here is how it started.

Here is tonights work

I have drawn in an A ( well I stole it from the EXTRA decal and re-scaled it ) , corrected the top of the K and started the black outline around the front and top and bottom of the J.

Another half hour on this Sunday - getting there

Progress after Pinballer kindly sent me a new image
I am keeping all the images at the top of the thread to enable progess shots to be more easy to see.
Obviously still a way to go to clean it right up.

Heres some more work after tonights big mexican feed   :lol

Good job so far........

Another person I know suggested this stuff http://www.thecopiercompany.com.au/product.asp?ID=5575 for printing decals.

I have got some coming to try.

A photo would be fine ( rather than a scan ) as I just need to see how the lettering looks - but its gotta be in focus , so can you use someone elses camera please  :lol

Wotto, I will email you an image from my NOS playfield later this morning.  I scanned it late last year to provide a CPR artist the complete playfield image for a future playfield reproduction.

Looking great Wotto...

Are you going to hand paint the white highlighting on?

After starting this I now realise I cant use the waterslide stuff as we cant 'print' white.

So I may print this on extrememly thin sticker vinyl and lay it down as it is a very small word anyway and there will be enough clear gaps to allow the red light shine through  *!@

will wait till I have re-drawn it properly and make a decision then.

Got home from a decent meal out and couldnt be bothered watchin telly and stuff so I did a test print of the Jackpot decal.
Not too bad if you check the 1st post in this thread as to how it started.
Now I just have to do a nice tidy print.

Here is a basic test print on stock A4 paper of the above artwork.

Looking really good Wotto.

If you print it onto the high gloss white sticky labels and cut the same as you have that would work?
