JD, earlier you said

Quote
The problem persists but also when you turn the machine off and on there are 4 credits in the credit window.

That's coming up in audit mode I think.  Before pulling the boards apart and sending them around the country have you tried new batteries and setting the machine back to factory default. This can be done from the top dip switches on the cpu board.  Do you have the game manual to make sense of all these setting, it's available from ipdb?

No havent tried this but keen to do so.

I am calling Skybeau to discuss and I will mention this as well.

Keen to avoid sending boards around too.

Thanks for the tip!

Left the boards with Skyebow for a few days and he gave them the full test on his jig.

Fixed a few chips and all looks good now.

Installed and went to play and the ball load coil is not pushing the ball out. Does it twice then stops. Coil has no force.

Took out coil and found some heat marks so it looks like it is cooked.

Has some strange numbers written on it with a texta "SG 23" and underneath "850 DC"

Can anyone tell me what coil I need to buy to fix it?

The ebay ones say 23 800 at closest. ???

Not positive which coil it takes as i don't have the manual.
I checked the Flash manual and it uses a 23-900 so Gorgar would likely be the same.
I have some new ones here should you need one
There's not a great deal of difference between 23-800 ,850 and 900...with 900 being the slightly weaker of the 3

This site has heaps of coil info on it and may be of general interest

from the site I grabbed this which is specific to WMS coils.

Thanks Heaps Firepower!

Appreciate your assistance.

I got a second hand coil from Rackaball which will get me out of trouble for the weekend and then I will order another.

Thanks

Put that coil in tonight courtesy of Rackaball and it went well thanks.
Now I can appreciate all the additional sounds available when the board is working properly. Thanks Ken.

Hopefully we can enjoy it for a while now and have some fun!

GORGAR IS BACK IN ACTION!
