First Of My 2 New Pins Is Home
« on: July 24, 2009, 12:36:18 AM »
Finally got the first of my two new pins I got from the US home tonight.   $#$  Game play isn't the greatest but the artwork just about is.  It is an awesome looking machine and the game play is actually a bit better and quicker than what I was expecting.

The playfield has a bit more wear than I was expecting and the backglass a few more repairs but all things considered, I'm pretty happy with it.

Plenty of pics at http://s479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/Talby671/The%20Incredible%20Hulk/?albumview=grid

Here's a couple if you don't want to go to photobucket.  New drop targets have been ordered.   *%*

Where's the wear? I can see a touch around the 4000 insert, I think.

I think that is dirt on the glass that has shadowed onto the playfield.

The playfield has alot of crazing and ball swirl marks but it looks like there is a coat of clear over the playfield now which is giving it the nice shiny look.  There is a bit of wear on the top side of the pop bumpers as well.  It could be worse but it could be better as well.

Ah, should have looked at the photobucket photos first - I see what you mean now.

Nice machine  ^^^

Hulk is a little bit underrated - I personally like the theme and the gameplay.

Why did you have to import it ? I would have thought there would be a Hulk or sale somewhere in Oz ?

That looks pretty tidy.
Decent colour in cabinet artwork as well.

I don’t mind The Hulk actually , I really like the artwork and colours on it.
Gameplay isn’t too bad for its age and it has the unique sling ‘upshooters’ which are kinda cool.
LOVE the backglass.

Congrats

I had been looking for a Hulk for a long time, purely based on the look of the game and the kids being huge Hulk fans.  For me it was one of those MUST HAVE machines as soon as I saw it.

They aren't easy to find and this one came up on eBay in the States.  After the exchange rate, shipping and port fees, the price was still comparable with the price of the one or two I had seen sell here.  So no specific reason for importing it - only my lack of patience I spose waiting for the right one here and it was a good learning experience.

Your spot on there Tony.  As I have mentioned, the machine isn't quite as good as the pics made out originally but I don't know if I am also expecting too much from a 30 year old machine.  More importantly though, it arrived safe and sound.  I was definitely stressing about it and after all this time, it was good to find that I didn't just get an empty cardboard box and it was the same machine that was in the photos.

Would I do it again.........probably not, or at least for a long time.

Of the Sys 1 machines I've owned this one definitely has the most colourful BG & PF artwork and the most unique audio (cool growling hulk sounds) :)
How much did it cost you all up? (Only if you don't mind saying so.)

Growling Hulk - mine doesn't have that, just beeps and bloops.  Does something like the Pascal board add the extra sounds?

I got two machines at the time so when all was said and done, the machines (Hulk and Judge Dredd) with shipping from the States, port fees and customs broker, worked out about $2200 each.  So they didn't really work out being cheap as far as Aussie prices go.  Dredd needs a few plastics replaced but will be a very nice machine - it has pretty good colour in the cabinet for a Dredd.

There are a few sneak peak pics of Dredd at - http://s479.photobucket.com/albums/rr153/Talby671/Judge%20Dredd/?albumview=grid
Pics were taken at Gorgar's house where Dredd is waiting to be picked up.  Sadly for Peter, it hasn't got an Aussie lead on it yet and he can't play it.   *)*
