« on: August 02, 2009, 09:13:32 PM »
Played a Firepower today for the first time since the 1980s...

Man now I remember why I liked its sooo much back then...

Awesome sound .....

and love the voice - " Firepower", "Fire 1, Fire 2, Fire 3", etc

What a great game, gotta give it 9/10 , this was ahead of its time.   $#$ $#$

You are not wrong - but off course I would say that, wouldn't I!

I played Firepower a lot in it's day at the Horsnby billiards hall on George? st - I'm pretty sure that one had drop targets and I've been thinking of trying the conversion on mine. Anyone done this?

I remember reading about this years ago - the proto/sample games were designed with drop targets but Williams pulled the pin to cut costs.

How much cooler would of this game been with 2x 3 drop target banks, rather than the bullseyes?

There's a description of the retro fit of the drop targets -

http://pinball.flippers.info/firepowerdroptargets/
“If you wanna escape, go up to a pinball machine. There’s a magic button on the front that takes you to a world under the glass and makes the the rest of the universe disappear.”

Finally lit and collected Extra Ball on my Firepower this arvo (factory settings) .  $#$ I've lit it once or twice before but never collected it . It was on the last of 3 balls too , LOL.
Never managed to even light it back in the arcade days far as I remember.
