Starsky & Hutch Pinball ... a dream? Or reality!?
« on: August 10, 2009, 01:06:38 AM »
OK I've made no secret of the fact that I don't like hubby's Stars pinball -- and a good suggestion was to change it into a Starsky & Hutch pinball, which would be a great improvement in my humble opinion.  But Rod says the layout of the scores would make it too difficult to fit another theme in.  Well, he's right, it would be tricky -- but not impossible, huh?  How's this for an idea?  I'm sure I could come up with other ideas. Come on Rod, work with me here.  :lol

Play Centipede without a track ball? Um -- it's Centipede! A joystick won't cut it, Rod, I NEED MY TRACKBALL!! :wtf:

Yeah, that is a solid start - you will probably find something that looks even better if you play around with the layout a bit more.

Watch out Stars!!

Just to clarify. The cloud looking things are where the "Tilt/Match/Ball In Play" lights would be on Stars. I'm sure there would be a better work around for that.

As mentioned. The display orientation is pretty limiting. You'd be better off with traditional display in every corner like all Bally games from the time. Or the orientation like on Hot Hand/Nugent/Meteor would be heaps easier to work with.

Anyway. S&H is already in pinball form. But it's the movie.

Heck if your going to the effort of a new backglass, surely you could cut a new piece of MDF to mount the displays and lamps on too?

A bit of work to do that, but it would open up a whole load of options for ya!

Cheers
Jacob

Sorry Anna - but I think the backglass to Stars is even better that that  !^!

Stars is a pretty cool game also  (as are nearly all of the Sterns from that era)^^^

Aw, well it was only my first draft!  Now that he's OK'd the idea of starting from scratch and moving the displays around as AskJacob suggested, I'll have more creative freedom!  You're still on board with this, right Rod?

Now now, if that's going to be your attitude, perhaps you shouldn't have agreed to the project.   ^&(

No, not stuffed -- I just don't care for it.  But the feeling is mutual -- it definitely doesn't like me either and punishes me whenever I make an attempt to play it.  So -- how badly do I have to stuff it -- I mean, does it have to be stuffed before I wouldn't get crucified?   !*!
