« on: August 17, 2009, 01:48:34 PM »
As the title says......

I'm looking at getting a heap of front doors, surrounds and legs done + some other small bits and pieces

Anybody able to recommend somebody?

Hey Tony

I used to use a guy here in Taren Point at the Enware factory.
http://www.enware.com.au/chrome-factory/default.aspx

They did very good work – but I haven’t used em for about 3 years.
At that time it was $80-100 for a set of 4 legs ( this was before you could buy new legs cheaper than that  #@# )

They also had an old EM door there once ( not mine ) when I was collecting a set of legs.

So they have some ‘pinball experience’

I am unsure if the staff are still the same - but they were always 'pretty helpful'

A mate of mine has an electroplating company at Artarmon and has done some stuff for me and a few other blokes. Give him a call if you like - Rob (Maca) , artarmon plating , 0294364540. He may be able to help.

Thanks Jeff,

What kind of parts did you have done and what were the ballpark prices?

I need about 10 Gottlieb front doors done and thinking it might be cheaper to buy new from PBR  !@#

Tony, not sure on pricing. I also don't think he can do S/Steel !@#. Best bet is too give him a call and maybe mention that Jeff thought you may be able to help. "Maca" did a lot of bits & pieces for my IJ when I was blinging it up and has also did some of the chroming on a CV that went under extensive rebuild about 2yr ago belonging to someone else. He also knows how big a pin door is as he put plenty of coins in the slot years ago at Epping as well *%* ( Mamas & Epping pub)

Not sure about Sydney but Hamilton Chrome in Newcastle did a good job for me a couple of years ago. Based on the price, would think it was cheaper to get new doors from PBR.

John,

Do you mind if I ask what you had done and the costs involved?

Tony, It was for a Bally Playboy coin slot cover flange, rear playfield glass chanell, both ball stops clips, $300

It's an old time shop but does a good job.
