best ? pre 1980 pinball.
« on: August 18, 2009, 09:51:29 PM »
If u could buy only one pinball pre 1980, and u wanted it to be completely different to anything from the 1990's machines, what machine would u suggest i buy ?..after reading about the passion some of the guys have for the older machines, i am thinking of buying something pre 1980.

...any suggestions... !@#

....name of machine and why ? !@#

Wow tony that was a shock i never seen that coming lol

Any gottlieb EM should be considered but with your list of high end pins they might be a bit slow maybe try a PARAGON if you dont like the Gameplay you can just enjoy the art i know i would

Not necessarily my personal pick for pre 1980. (As my only game) But i reckon for anyone in your situation looking for pre 1980. I would suggest Gottlieb Genie from 1979.

Beautiful game to look at, with a huge playfield and heaps of stuff to shoot for..

And +1 for Paragon  ^^^

Easy - Bally Paragon

Best artwork of any pin, any era.

Leaving the EM suggestions to the experts, I'll stick to SS and suggest Gottlieb Joker Poker.

Great artwork, particularly the cards on the playfield with their tiny intricacies, but most of all the quality of playability of this game sets it apart as one of the best of the era for me.

Stern Hot Hand (1979) is a whole lotta fun. Not sure it is best, but a good solid player.
