Yes Wotto, was so cool how your lack of skill earnt a ball search lol

Congrats Swampy, another cool pinny makes its way to Newy!
Perfect choice for a first machine, lotsa fun, and low maintenance.
Best machine to put LEDs in as well (amazing light show).

Both FT's sold cheap on ebay yesterday, you bought the one missing the dome cover? Pinball Spare Parts have them: http://www.pinballspareparts.com.au/index.php?crn=262&rn=1780&action=show_detail

Thanks for all the kind words people.

Yep, bought the one without the plastic cover for the topper, so that's the first thing going on the parts list.

Will post pics when it arrives........

Here's a thought.....I reckon FT must have one of the hardest EB shots going around.......just to the left of the caster is tough. Thoughts??

Apparantly you can only make the Extra Ball shot on FT off the right hand flipper as the boat ramp gets in the road for a clear shot at it from the left-hand one .

You can get it from a rebound from the left flipper. Its dead easy really with the right flipper, I seldom miss it. Woosey guys put the longer (normal size) flipper bats on FT, but that just spoils the challenge.

Ok lads here 'tis.

FT standing proudly in my garage......and I've been tinkering all long weekend, coz lets face it, there's nowhere else I'd rather be on a wet Oct long weekend....

She's dirty, she's got some issues here and there, and some of the dodgiest repairs I've ever seen......That just adds to the challenge. Why on earth would you silicone coils?? (seriously, why? electrical newbie here.....)

Pics!! With more to follow.

Cheers.

That doesn't look to be in too bad a nick swampy . Do you have the clear cover for the fish topper ?? If you don't I think Mark C had a heap of them ( unless he sold out ) .

FT is a great fun pin to play . Congrats on the purchase . So what's next ( it never stops at just 1 pin - just you wait and see ..  %.% )

Thanks guys.

Hmmmmm.....what to buy next? So many good pins to chose from. I played a whitewater last week at a mates place (thanks Jules) and was a big fan.....or perhaps I just throw a deposit down on a LOTR gold....

There's a few gremlins coming out of the FT though. The battery pack on the CPU board was replaced over the weekend (along with new batteries) but the machine is dumping all high scores and restoring factory settings. Not straight away, but if the machine is left for, say, 12 hours it's all gone. Thoughts? Also, I wandered out to the shed tonight, beer in hand, for a few games, and on one random ball the music soundtrack went really quiet. All other sound effects (eg long cast, hold bonus) were at normal volume. Anyone seen that before?

I guess you have to expect little issues like that on a 17 year old machine.

Thanks in advance for any help with this!!

Cheers.

Yep your right, a few little bugs are always expected...Especially after transport...But its more fun fixing stuff yourself and getting the machine 100%..

I'm sure you've seen it, but if not check out Clays site which is the bible when it comes to repairs..
