Bally Glass Lock Assembly A-3868 reproduction
« on: October 01, 2009, 10:48:29 PM »
Hi Guys,

I have recieved my first sample of the Bally Glass Lock Assembly (part number A-3868).

It goes the the headbox of most 1970-1980 Bally and possibly Williams machines of the same era.

I looked everywhere to purchase one of these and there are none around.

I must thank Nino, as I borrowed his original from a 1978 Bally Playboy to get the measurements to duplicate these.

The piece is laser cut from 2.5mm mild steel and folded in one piece, the original is spot welded and also a bit thinner in material.

I will now get the sample gold zinc coated as per the original pieces (gold Cad is now illiegal)

This is my first attempt to reproduce parts from scratch in a small commercial quantity.

I have just put in an order for another 20 pieces and also have the correct lock that goes with this assembly from the US.

I have not reproduced the holes, I believe that there was a possiblity that you could put small springs to load up the assembly.

If you can see ant issues, let me know

Cheers Angelo

Great stuff Angelo!

I've seen many Bally's missing this part, and as the locks are easy to get, it would be great to have the machines complete again.  #*# #*#
