Not sure how many of you guys read RGP, so sorry if this is common knowledge!

Just came across this on RGP..

A debate followed, one camp saying "do not sell them, or someone else buy them and do not open them", and the other camp saying "someone buy them and play them, that's what they were built for".

I can't decide on my own opinion on this topic! I find it exciting that these even exist, and if they are the last known NIB WMS, it would be a shame to end that all by opening the box.. But I also agree that its a shame they are still in the box and have never been played!

What do you guys think??

Even with the state of the US economy they will sell...no problem  ^^^

Either way you look at it its a waste if its in a box its a waste of a good pinball if you take it out of the box its a wasted of a NIB pinball

I agree that they should be sold to someone who will open them and play them and enjoy them *%*. I would however be very sad if they were sold to someone who wanted to put them out on sites to be abused  *.*

What on Earth would pinball people want with a box unopened in the corner?

Pretty expensive lot though, and I would find it hard to justify. But I've done way more than what would be lost on one of those on most cars I've bought new. I suppose well-waxed they'd stay at the higher end value-wise.

Personally only Funhouse out of that lot is at all appealing.

With some of the EXCELLENT work coming out of Treasure Cove in the states, and some forum members in Melbourne,
it would be extremely hard to justify paying that sort of money for a pinball, supposedly new in box or not.

But, if it is true, play them and keep for Home Use Only, and send everyone on the forum lots of photos,before you play it,
then send out the video of the first game being played.  *%*

Once box is opened, and batteries taken out, they cease to NIB.

But how hard would it be to fake a NIB machine? Guys out there with the skills to pull it off.

personally Extraball, i am with you.
I reckon 99% of these so called Brand New In Box pins are a sham.
Great way to make great money in a sagging US economy, and theres a sucker born everyday.

It would take alot of persuasion for me to hand over double or tripple the amount i can pick up a local pin for.
Both my Star Trek Next Gens are minty, one cost me 3500 and the other 4 grand.
Why would i pay $11 grand USA (say $13,000 aussie),for only one pin, It doesnt make sense in my book.

* i wonder what the most, an Aussie would admit to paying for one pin.
Best i saw was a guy hand over $10,500 cash for a Monster Bash,a year ago, and it wasnt as good as the best in the country i have seen in Adelaide.That was one sweet Monster Bash and it wasnt crazy money like the other guy at $10,500 either.  ^^^
