Buckethead
« on: November 15, 2009, 11:59:17 PM »

I was a little bored last week and I was fooling around on Youtube. I came across a music video for the "Top 10 - best guitar solo" or something like that.. Anyway, I watched the normal culprits, and then THIS guy "Buckethead" came up. I thought it was all a joke or something, but this guy has released 28 solo albums and worked with countless artists - he was in Guns'N'Roses for 4 years. What I thought WAS the joke - He wears a KFC Bucket on his head, a Freddie Mask and NEVER does interviews - those he DID do - He used a puppet.

So I spend some time researching his work - Wiki and youtube, and I cannot believe the talent this guy has... I've watched hours of videos of his playing, and I cannot believe how good he is - weird - you bet, but just have a listen to a few of these songs - the guy is genius..

The guy is a freak. My son told me about him a few months ago and showed me some videos which I could not believe. Apparently he has some form of autism (not confirmed) and is close to 7 foot tall. An amazing musician.

I'm "old school" - Frehley, Page, Sykes, Rhodes, Van Halen, Petrucci etc..

So I'm not into the modern day "shredders" at all.. I like the "feel" of the older guitarist - not how many notes they can play in a second

But this guy is a total freak - the most gifted guitarist I've ever heard - and the strangest.
