I emailed kohout early this week regarding a display for my Pinbot and they have not responded. I'd make sure they are still around before paying them !

New boards are a wise investment i reckon.  Nothing worse than doing all that work to get it happening, only to be constantly fighting with it to keep it running.

If you get the driver board and the Mpu board then you can use a pc type ribbon cable to connect the boards....WAY BETTER and thats why Im going to buy both boards..

I prefer to use original boards - it is part of the challenge for me, and I get a lot of satisfaction getting the old boards working well.  I find with the old Ballys and Sterns that I collect once you have repaired them properly they are very reliable *%*  Williams and Gottelib on the other hand #@#

cheers
Ian

I use the original boards as well. Once you replace the interconnect, reflow solder as necessary, rebuild the power supply, etc, they are good for another 25 years or so :) But, I've replaced some original boards with other original boards depending on condition etc.

But, to each his own - I wouldn't enjoy a restoration without a little rework :) OK, a lot of rework :)

I also like to use original boards where possible just for the challenge but if its a game im planning on keeping and actually playing ill buy em new save the whole "is this going to work this time" question.     Good luck paul i wont expect a game of it though as it will be long gone before i make it to sydney again lol
