« on: January 22, 2010, 11:30:26 PM »
HELLO ,

can u tell me what a 1990 Diner Pinball is worth. The machine is in excellent condition and everything looks like home use.
I cannot show photos cause i saw it for sale somewhere.

Don't see to many for sale.

I remember last year a supposedly nice one sold at the Sydney Expo auction for 1500.

So if it's as nice as you say, i'm guessing 1800 - 2200?.

Pretty neat theme, which i'd like to have a bash on one day.

Diner has somewhat become a collectable and does not appear for sale very often...

Visually its a beauty...

I would say if its in good condition i would pick it up for around $2000...

I would think that 2k would be the lower end of the mark, one sold at Bumper last year for close to 3K and it was a POS, heavy playfield wear, just not a good quality/condition machine overall. Personally I like the machine, and if you can get it for 2K then go for it, you can't go wrong with that price.
Cheers Angelo

ok, thanks Pinfan.

Its hard to price some pins cause u dont have many sales to go by with some of these machines that arent sold often.
I ofcourse, always try to pay close to what it is worth.I dont deny the bloke who is seliing it his bucks, i dont want to pay too little n screw the guy, but i dont want to pay too much either.

If i go in too low, i might get told to XXX off, but its hard sometimes, thats why i rely on you guys ! the machines i am talking about have other interested parties looking as well. its sort of a make ya best offer. this fellow has a good friend who wants them both, and then theres me. So i would prob offer more than his mate would. If i offer too little his mate gets them, if i offer enough i might get them. what to offer. what to offer . lol

No dramas, just thought that I would note the last one that I saw that sold, not many about of these machines.

Cheers Angelo

Just offer what you think is fair for you, my mate just made an offer on an XW sedan  parked in the back yard of an old ladies house, offered her $200 and she replied that she thought that she would have to pay him to take it...... you never know

Always the same bottom line.. seller will want as much as possible and try to pish the price a bit... buyer wants to pay less... in the middle is a possible deal.

So he has a "mate" that is after them also?? Why dont he sell to his "mate" straight up then?  Mate can have them so long as he pays more than you???

determine your price, knock $300 off and offer.. if he then says "mate has offered X"  then he wants to sell to you anyway but just wants to squeeze a few more $$ out of the deal.

When i buy pins i always remember the golden rule... be prepared to walk away and do just that to stand your ground... yeh ive lost a few pins that way, but ive also got my deal more times...

good luck    ^^^

his mate is a tight arse. the seller needs decent money, not "mates money" which is usually too low.

i reckon 2200 to 2600 is fair for a top condition diner for someone who really wants one.

As for elvira, probably 2500 to 3 grand cause its so rare and so in demand. elvira is the pick. diner looks mad in the dark with the massive amounts of bright red lights. choices. choices.

A good DINER will come up less than Elvira... Diner is the pick of the 2
