1970 BALLY SUPER 7 BINGO MACHINE

Yes i did say i was taking a break from pinball but a good friend offered me this machine and id always been told they are super hard to fix and i always wanted to take up the challenge.       This machine looks complete the backbox has been dropped and the backglass is broken.   Only other think i can visually see is a burnt out coil.

   These thigs are damn heavy and awkward the backbox is almost as big as a pinball body

All the weight is in the backbox in these, not much installed in the cabinet

Pumped plenty of coins into these machines in the seventies.    
You will be a EM technical expert Daniel if you can tackle these machines.

Thats what i thought then i went to move the cabinet and that is heavy aswell

         Hopefully i can get the old girl running 100% then ill most likely strip it down for a full rebuild the cabinet is splitting from where it was dropped so will need some work to repair as its holding alot of weight and id hate it to fall onto any of my other machines....

   Biggest problem is i might have to part with a machine if i keep this one

Bally bingos are very different beasts and would be the most difficult EM to repair of the era. VERY HEAVY - and it is all "head". My old man used to call these machines "The original computer". I have paperwork on some 50's Bingos, but no 70's Bingos. Even have some NOS Stepper units in storage.

Well spent a few hours this afternoon on the old beasty.   At this stage its just a mecahnical rebuild to make sure i can get it going once its running ill strip it down again for a good scrub up.   This afternoon i removed all the internals of the cabinet and rebuilt all the stepper units, cleaned and adjusted all the relays and cleaned and adjusted all the switches.   Each relay ans stepper switch was tested one at a time with a multi meter to make sure they were all working propery as once its back in the game these wont be accesible.

 I also repaired the rodent damaged wires

Lift that head on and off machine a few times and you will end up looking like a condom full of walnuts. Bloody heavy things. Bingos are great but not many people take time to understand them. Get this monster going then find a 50s machine with wood rails. You will be hooked. There are not many of us bingo nuts out there.

Got a few 50's Ballys in Storage - Miami Beach, Sun Valley Miss America, Key West, Night Club, Laguna Beasch, Show Time, Ballerina, Cypress Gardens..

I have some NOS steppers, Coils, motors.. One Day I'll get to them !

When they are working - They are simply awesome to play and enjoy.
