what AP has tought me and its results
« on: February 18, 2010, 01:48:24 PM »
Got this little beauty on Friday and it looked like it was going to be a bit of a challenge. But thanks all the great help and tips from Aussie Pinball members I made easy work out of it.

This is the before shot

So it was roll up the sleeves and do a full week end of work and have it done by Monday.

First I used Nino's rainnex and magic eraser to clean her up a bit, it truely is magic.

Wotto came to the party with some home made overlays to cover the minor wear spots.

Read carefully Marty J's resto threads to just get the cabinet stencilling and playfield clear coating just perfect.

Was inspired by KTM450's mods and thought what the hell, I'll add some personal touches to this machine.

Thanks to Mark C for supplying some of the missing parts, she works fast and sweet now.

Finally had to include a full LED kit from RTBB (Greg) as I don't think a pinney is really finished until you install led lighting.

And this is the final product, the after shot. I know its not as good as if done by a professional, but hey it was my first effort. I'm happy with the result, what do you reckon??

Talking about Medi-Evil Madness, who on here has one. ?  !@#

Can someone take a video of it being played and post it on youtube and place the link here.

Is medi-evil a great game or a over-rated game.

They are so expensive so they must be good. Only ever seen one and it was trashed.

Would love to hear more about medi-evil and about the gameplay and if it is a fun game etc !  !@#

On a serious note, my point for the thread was that what a newbie (and oldy) can learn from this sight is gold and will give you the confidence to believe that you could nearly achieve what I pictured. The main thing is to give it a try, and you'll be surprised by the results. I used to worry about what can go wrong, when now I look at things and say what can I do to improve the look, performance, dependability of a game. AP is gold in my opinion.  @@*

It is a good fun game, I don't deny that! Is it the best game ever and is the gameplay worth the extra dollars? Again, I don't think so.

By the way it is currently rated #6 at IPDB behind

#1     Twilight Zone   (Bally,1993)
#2    The Addams Family   (Bally,1992)
#3    Cirqus Voltaire   (Bally,1997)
#4    Star Trek: The Next Generation   (Williams,1993)
#5    Tales of the Arabian Nights

They are expensive basically because a group of people decided that it was the ultimate pinball machine, pushing up prices. Perhaps the fact that it was one of the last few Williams designs before they closed helps? Personally I would choose a Revenge From Mars or a POTC ahead of a Medieval Madness.

By the way, No Good Gofers was produced by Williams later that year, with a smaller production run, and it is just an average-priced machine.
