STTNG connector help.
« on: February 28, 2010, 07:32:51 PM »
Hi guys,

I would appreciate if someone could help me out here as i need to know
what size connectors ( .062 , .084 etc )  and how many pins they were,
( 8 pin, 9 pin etc ) that were used on both left and right side popper
mechs/assemblies and on the subway ramp on a STTNG please..

( I am referring to the connectors used to disconnect the mech/
assembly from the game to be able to remove them completely. )

Mine have all been direct soldered (  !@#  ^&^  @@^ ) and I
have no idea what should be there. I would like to replace them back
to original.

Both poppers have 8 wires and so does the subway so i am guessing they
would have used 9 pin connectors but wish to be sure on size of pins
and the connector for any future works.

If someone is willing to also take a pic for me of the 3 connectors it
will be much appreciated..

And if you could point me to where they are able to be obtained it
will also be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.. Marco

if no one else is able to do it over the next 2 days i can do it for you and draw you up a wiring diagram with wire colours and positions.
i would do it now but i am still a bit sore after my operation last week.

i can tell you the subway ramp has 2 connectors on it (9 and 3 pin).

if i am feeling ok i will have it done tonight, the missus will give me a hand with removing the glass and lifting the p/f.
there are other reasons why i need to remove the glass so i might as well do it all at the same time.
besides i am dying to do some work on a pin. I haven't been able to do anything since last tuesday and i am having pinball repair withdrawals and i have been hanging to work on a pin for days. LOL

:lol Well there you go ! A little pinball project for you..  :D

I am quite the opposite. I have recently started a restore on my STTNG and all i have been doing is working on it...  :lol  !!!

Not only is it an in depth game to play but it is also an in depth machine to strip !  @@^

Again it is much appreciated Beaky but please to not over exert yourself.... Obviously you need to rest so when you think you are ready then you are ready... I am in no real rush...

Hey Beaky,

for future reference it has been confirmed by Clay that they are .062 pins...
the 3 pin plug has larger pins than the 9 pin plugs

hope all this helps.

also if you are going to remove the sub ramp then you only need to remove the right popper as the poppers are not screwed to the sub ramp
