Fastest pin youv'e played
« on: March 09, 2010, 04:32:38 PM »
I'm interested in opinions here.

I've never cared so much about speed in a pin before, but after owning/playing a Galaxy i'm looking at speed in a whole new way and it's becoming very addictive.

So for me (so far) the fastest pin iv'e played is Galaxy by a fair amount. After a clean and wax the ball becomes a blur at times and nearly leaves flames, surprised most the plastics are intact. The ball can move so fast it leaves the playfield surface for a good distance and rollovers don't register so you can make the long shot but not be rewarded. What a blast.

Any other fast pins to look out for?

STTNG...Very fast flowing game and no waiting for balls...Balls are always loaded and ready to go..

and

Silverball's TOM and PM !

both super fast games...set up to perfection, except for the 6.5 degree lean to the right...  %.%

I have a 'Indy 500' which I look like selling to get some dollars for my EM projects. Possibly one of the fastest machines I have played.

+1 to Daves Pinball Magic.  That thing was kicking my butt and making me look like a 6 year old hitting both flippers.

Most of the Classic Sterns are fast.  Quicksilver is probably the quickest, but Seawitch and Stargazer are not far behind.

cheers

After a game of Galaxy, I'll play my other pins. Pull the plunger to set the ball in play, have a yawn and a stretch, a hit on some beer and then get ready to hit the ball as it makes it's way down the field %.%, which is cool cause they are challenging in other areas.

Speed aint everything though, but keep the names of fast pins coming. Thanks BWB for the Stern info. ^^^

Im doing some work on a Galaxy at the moment for a friend. Just about EVERY plastic guide on the game is either cracked or broken!!. Definitely a fast game from what i can remember playing one about 20 yrs ago. Great game and one of my wishlist titles.. cant convince my mate to sell it to me though !!! he only bought it based on the artwork!!

Haha yeah just ordered a full set of lane guides and rubbers for Galaxy this arvo, a few cracked ones, a lot of un-original ones.

My freshly waxed AFM can be almost unplayable for 20 games or more before the ball slows enough - I'll take a vid one day after a wax and post it!

The fastest machines I have played out of the fleet i have would be -

Black Knight 2000 - Killer Super fast polished bottom playfield
Godzilla - Super fast
Sega - Viper Night Drivin - Super fast
Starship Troopers - Super fast  *(most of the concave Segas play real fast)
All these are much much faster than my Star Trek Next Gens.

Out of all the machines I have played, the ones i mention above are super fast with a nice polished playfield. Blink twice and you lose the ball and say, dammm, where did the ball go ? right down the guts !  ^^^ ^^^ ^^^
Behind every garage door could be a pinball collectors

Galaxy and Meteor BURY just about any title from that era - especially post reconditioning and a good wax. Meteor was a slightly faster pin.

Theatre of Magic loop is insane !
