Black Rose playfield clear coat
« on: March 11, 2010, 11:13:29 AM »
Hi guys,

Just thought I'd share a couple of pics of a playfield I've just finished for a good mate.

Some very minor artwork repairs were done and a clear coat (2k).  The area around the cannon was left 'as is'.

The finish is straight off the gun.  Has not had a final block and buff.

This is only the second playfield I've cleared and I am refining the process each time.

Wow! I recon I would'nt even bother buffing at this stage. Looks good as it is.

Looks sensational.  How much more would the buff add?

Thanks for the words gents!
I don't think buffing will add anything re the shine.  But blocking it will take out any minor imperfections to get the true glass finish.

For a second effort, its not too bad.  Still not HEP standard but each one gets better and better.

Thanks mate.  I couldn't give any tips re EM playfields...Gav is the expert with those.  But I've found preparation is the key and make sure you protect yourself as 2K is nasty.
For a perfect EM playfield, you'll have to buy a Playmatic!  They are bulletproof..!

Well done Marty  ^^^

I'll say it again - You should seriously look at providing this as a service sometime in the future when you are confident of the process. So far, the results are more than encouraging !
