Gottleib Pro-Football em
« on: March 18, 2010, 01:35:01 AM »
Hi Guys,

I am trying to fix a few problems with my Gottleib Pro-Football.
I had a bit of a play with it about a year ago.  Everything was improving well, more and more was working, then I may have over-fiddled ^&^
Lost all lights in the head unit, and several other things went wrong.  I got very frustrated, realised I was way out of my depth and abandoned it.

Now I have some time on my hands.  I have been having another go.  I have a A1 print of the schematics(which may as well be latin).  I don't have a manual, though I have searched all over the internet for one.  I know that I have problems with the Q relay.  There were a couple of loose wires at that relay and I soldered them back on last year.  I don't reckon I put them back in the right spot.

Can someone send me a photo of their Q relay?
Or write down which wire go to which position?
It would really help me out.
This is a great site I have spent over 4 hours reading through the logs.  I still haven't finished "my second pin has arrived - Pro-football", but it is getting late so I will have to finish that off tomorrow.

cheers
Mark

Thank you very much strangeways!
I have been using that pinrepair link.  I printed the pinrepair guide, it has post it notes all over it, and is a bit dog-eared.   It has a good gottleib diagram of the vari-target.  I had a problem with one of mine.  I think I have fixed it.  Now have to wait till i put it all back together to find out.

cheers
Mark

No worries.  When you get the chance.

Rob, I finished reading your log today.  Hell of a ride.

Thanks for all the replies.  I never expected to get any responses this quickly.
They are finiky things.  fix one thing, then something else goes wrong that was ok before.
Johnnie Walker sounds like a good idea.

cheers

I made some progress today.

I replaced some fuses and the headboard works again.
The variable targets still have problems, so I looked through the schematics and thought it was to do with the I Relay.
Turns out the I relay has nothing to do with the vari-targets, but it has a hell of a lot to do with moving the football up the playfield.
The football often doesn't move up the field as it is supposed to, and it frequently sticks on the try line.

I had to slightly adjust the position of a cam on the I relay and the football moved up the field perfectly exactly as it is supposed to.  Unfortunately it only worked a for about 5  minutes, now it is stuck again.  Will have another look tomorrow.

cheers
Mark
