How do I decide what 2 sell
« on: April 02, 2010, 06:15:14 PM »
Ok everyone need some help.

I am considering selling 2 or 3 of my older machines on eBay and using funds to buy something a little newer.  Problem I have is deciding which ones to sell as they all mean something for different reasons.

So the ones for which I need to choose two from are as follows:
1. Gottlieb 1973 Jumping Jacks
2. Gottlieb Sinbad
3. Gottlieb Dragon
4. Gottlieb Count Down
5. Gottlieb - Asteriod Annie and the Aliens

How do you guys decide what to get rid of?  On game play?  Artwork?  Sentimental value?  Dollar Value? How rare the game is?

Any help appreciated on how you decide which game to part with, I would love to keep them all but with 14 machines now, I just dont have any room.

For me, never sell
Sold a Haunted House 20 years ago (Before the internets), now I kick myself

But if I had to, I would simply sell the one(s) I do not enjoy as much as the others

If I had 14 machines i'd decide by the amount of use they get.

As a general punter who doesn't know the history of these machines, or what each one means to you, I'd hang on to the Jumping Jack and Asteroid Annie.  Dragon would be first out the door, followed by Sinbad and then Count Down.

The only machines I sell are ones I buy with the intention of selling - and even that does not always work !@)

In your predicament I would sell Dragon first, then Countdown, Jumping Jacks, Sinbad and Asteroid Annie.

An alternative way to look at it is to sell what is easiest to buy again later if you change your mind - the message here would be NOT to sell the Asteroid Annie @.@

cheers
Ian

On their face value -

Dragon - sell
Sinbad - sell
Countdown - sell

Problem is that there have been multiple Sinbads on eBay, so demand won't be as high as it should be

rule 1. flog what you play the least.

rule 2. flog whatever is the easiest to replace if u want one later.

rule 3. dont flog any. just work harder and buy a bigger house to fit more in, or find an extra girlfriend who has some spare room for more machines.  && &&

I'd be keeping Countdown and Annie, the first as it's fun to play, and the second due to its rarity and great artwork, as well as very good game play.
