all the metal posts where cleaned and then polished with brasso and a dremmil with a small buffing wheel. (this took quite a few hours, one day i will be able to afford a tumbler  #@#)
all the screw heads and nuts where done the same way.
these have all been fitted to the playfield along with new plastic posts.
the kick back was cleaned and re sleeved.

nice, Beaky - Your attention to detail is great. Mate - Don't hesitate in buying a tumbler. You will be able to finish the polishing much quicker, and with better results.

Keep the updates coming.

next step is the metal guides.
cleaned and regrained.

one of the guides needed to be regrained on both sides. In order to do this the rivets had to be drilled out and the mounts removed.
after i regrained both sides the mounts where riveted back on with the correct rivets.

this is my new rivet press, it has been made from a 1 ton arbour press.
I bought a kit with all the bits & pieces needed to convert it to a rivet press, it came with the roll over dies and intructions on how to modify the press & make it more accurate.

this is the abrasive flap wheel that i used to regrain the guides.
i did it with a low speed battery drill.
you can buy these at  bunnings pretty cheap
