Crafty I just finished watching a doco I stumbled on about ten minutes ago, then saw this thread. Everyone should have a bit of a look at this might give you a couple of different answers/views as to future taxes and the reasons. Very interesting stuff, especially the second half. I'm not trying to get political or anything like that, this is a pin site, but I found it a good watch.

a friend of mine has an L.E.D. light fitting in his lounge room which runs on rechargeable batteries. the batteries are recharged while he is at work during the day, the beauty of it is they are being charged off the telstra phone line  #*# #*# #*#.

thats right he has a charger that plugs straight into the phone socket, as far as he is concerned he is getting free power to light his lounge room when he is watching tv  @@*

Since the installation of these so called "smart meters", EVERY single person that has had there first bill has noticed an increase of 20% or MORE from the last billing cycle. We WERE told it would be 10% cheaper (in the long run) - but that was just "spin". It's a joke - Best thing to do is call up and complain. If enough people do it, then maybe they can fix this disaster (one after the other)..
