PINBALL TRAGEDY NARROWLY AVOIDED
« on: June 15, 2010, 08:42:32 PM »
ONLY WAY TO START THIS IS

F**K ME I WAS LUCKY

I finished repairing a machine so i turned on the Patio heater in the shed so heath could come out to test it without freezing and went inside to get some tea.    Walked out after tea to a nice warm shed so we started having a few games when i turned around i notice the roof and floor of the shed covered in smoke and big flames outside of the heaters cover.  Turned off the gas bottle got heath to open the door and through the bloody thing out onto the grass.

Shed stinks but atleast its still there if it caught fire while i was inside it would have been a completely different story.

Man id love a JW right now but made a bet with the wife that id have a AFW

Bugger the AFW, close call like that deserves at least one nerve steadier!!

Glad all  is well with the games, but more importantly that no-one got hurt either!

It was the heater itself that caught fire the mirror ball and playfields on the roof were the closest to the heater only the mirror ball suffered some heat damage lucky we were in there as im sure the old playfields would have gone up pretty easily  ^&^

The smartest thing i could say is

SMOKE DETECTOR   SMOKE DETECTOR  SMOKE DETECTOR
SMOKE DETECTOR   SMOKE DETECTOR  SMOKE DETECTOR
SMOKE DETECTOR   SMOKE DETECTOR  SMOKE DETECTOR
SMOKE DETECTOR   SMOKE DETECTOR  SMOKE DETECTOR

$20 BUX AND IT WILL SAVE YA LIFE ( or more importantly the bloody PINBALL MACHINES)

Buy an expensive one from an electrical shop with a really loud buzzer connected to it. One in the house, one in the shed ! DO IT  DO IT. !

EVERY MEMBER should learn by your near tradgedy$$$ and buy some smoke detectors !   ^^^

Close call , sort of gives us a bit of a wake up call .
Smoke detectors = cheap insurance
Maybe a decent extinguisher wouldn't be bad Idea also .
Any Happy endings are good endings .

My mate pulled his back in Hong Kong a few weeks ago and had to go for a massage, lady doing the massage asked him if he wanted a Happy ending    :D :D :D :D

Well just finished work feel like a sack of shit splitting headache blocked sinuses and a sore throat so what ever was burning your not meant to breath in LOL

Lets hope that leaving the exhaust fan on all night and day has got rid of the smell.

At the time didnt really worry me calmly turned off the gas bottle and put the fire out now that i think back with the flames were dropping onto the gas bottle etc.   So im thinking what if??????

What if i wasnt in there at that moment Would i be covered with my insurance (im told i am but who believes insurance companies anything to get out of a claim)
What if the bottle caught fire or exploded while we were in there?
What if i was out there and got blown to bits while my son was inside by himself?? (what would he do)

A simple thing really makes you think so everyone double check there insurance add a smoke detector and make sure your family whould know what to do if the shit does ever hit the fan  ^^^

SHIT nearly 24 hours since the fire. With the exhaust fan going and the shed still stinks if the house ever catches on fire i think we will just leave it burn save trying to get rid of the smell *!@
