Well to me that says the score reel switches are not adjusted properly tomorrow take out the reel and activate it by hand and see what switches are open and closed then see if they change when not on 9.    Keep up the good work though rob you will get there soon enough

Keep going Rob - Process of elimination.

It does not seem to be a stuck switch. I've seen similar problems before. What your need to do is take out the tens and hundreds score wheel and tighten the switch stacks with a flat head screwdriver (with the game off). Clean the contacts on each reel stack with a business card.

Start a game

Do all reels reset to zero ?

Does the ball get served and no score added ?

Hit a tens switch - what happens ?

When it gets to ninety, hit another tens switch - What happens ?

Hit a hundreds switch - What happens ?

When it gets to nine hundred, hit another hunderds switch - What happens ?

Do all reels reset to zero ? all reset to zero except for 100's

Does the ball get served and no score added ? Not sure about this one as i dont let it hit anything worth 100 as it causes the sticky

Hit a tens switch - what happens ? scores 10 points

When it gets to ninety, hit another tens switch - What happens ? yep coil gets stuck as it tries to move the hundred

Hit a hundreds switch - What happens ? gets stuck

When it gets to nine hundred, hit another hunderds switch - What happens ? doesnt move the 1000's

Ok now ive introduced a new problem after tightening and cleaning the switches. Motor keeps running. While the motor is running, i hit the hundreds relay with my finger... It scores 100 points !!!! before when the motor wasnt running constantly, the hundreds would actually score 1000 points. I have checked the switches and when the score reel gets to 9 (100's) it tries to what seems like a double movement (2 clicks)... man im so frustrated i might go and clean my spare gulfstream playfield and leave pro football alone for a couple of years  :lol

Rob,

The next time Rollerball has a meet can you please bring the head along?

Take the backglass out and we will check it out there....sound like the contacts are all screwed on the score reels.

When you say "stuck" do you mean the score reel is not moving at all ?

is the plunger being held in ?

tony is right - The switches on the score reel are out of adjustment by the sounds of things.

Hi Nino,

Yeah when i mean stuck its the coil on the relay is being pulled in and doesnt let go so i cut the power. Weird about switch alignment as i have manually moved the coil and the switches "seem" to be in correct position on all numbers including the correct changes on position 9 and zero

There is a lever on the inside of the backbox on the top, slide that around until you can gently lower the mech panel with all the score reels etc on it.

Then from the side, put one arm around to the front of the glass and another arm around to the back.

Now place your hands on either side of the backglass

Push gently towards the back of the game and the glass will be free, now there is a channel at the base of the backglass in the timber.

Place the backglass in this channel and from here you will be able to lift the glass out from here.

Just be careful of the lever on the way out.

Rob, if in doubt just bring the entire head with the glass in it
