Hey Derek,

yeah im not so sure about the q relay as it seems to work well when i use the 9v battery test on it. It pulls and lets go nicely. Last time we spoke you mentioned the mylar trick to stop the magnetising. Im not sure which part i need to do this on ?? It seems like we've come full circle on this one where i am getting the same issue (maybe) as before.

Ball count unit does seem to be doing what its supposed to but when should it hit the home position? When you finish a game or start a new one?

And Daniel, again thanks for the offer on the relay. Maybe i can make a donation to AP for the relay  $#$

If you need flipper cab switches - here they are ;

http://www.rtbb.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1247

Now the AB - Does the coil pull in at all ? - You say you have to manually press the coil in. From the picture - they both look like they are pulling in ?? Or is that the angle of the photo ?

Thanks for the link will definately buy the flipper cab switches ^^^

As to the AB, when i test each coil individually with a battery, then they operate normally. its just when i start a game, neither coil does anything so i hit the arm myself  !@#

Have we got a pulling hair out emoticon on this site, i really need it  :lol

Do you manually activate the top or lower coil (looking at your picture) ?

Unit should move to the home position when you start a new game

Hi Rob,

I haven't done the trick with the Q relay but heard that you can stick a piece of mylar to the unside of the metal flap to stop it from sticking to the coil. This is really a workaround so it is probably best to just change the coil.  It sounds like it is no longer sticking but you could also check the switch contacts while it is energized to ensure it is working properly. We could also not fully tighten the stack without causing a problem (which is also a fault) so this may have worked loose.

You would have to check with Nino on his game but I thought that the ball stepper should start with the arm not touching any of the contacts. The first contact is for the 1st ball and the last contact is the game over so I think it should not be touching at all when the game is first started.

regards Derek

Sorry for the delay !

Derek is right - in the "Home" position, the stepper arm is all the way to the left ;

From memory - Once the ball is in the trough, the ball count unit advances, but PF does not have a trough - the ball is served from the center of the playfield. So it might advance straight away.

So after advancing the unit 6 times, it finally makes it to the end ;

..and then we reset, and back to "home";

Hope this helps !
