Tony - Just the nature of EMs. Lots of switches routing current around the machine - points are exposed. It is very easy to get electrocuted, but you should really be working on the machine when it is switched off. Sometime they do need to be on to fault find, so you just need to be a little more careful.

Brilliant and thanks again!! @@*

Well i've played about 20 games since yesterday and all works well except for another new problem... isnt that the way of em's  ::) Anyway, on a few games the ball count stepper unit skipped from ball 2 straight to ball 5 and beyond (end game). I scotch brited the stepper unit contacts with alcohol but im still getting the problem. Any ideas guys!!!

One of my machines was stepping two balls for a while turned out to be the drain switch double bouncing? Might be worth a look but im not sure how they work with the center shootout

Hi Rob,
Glad to help out. It would have been great to see both pinballs in action at the same time.

Did you get a chance to have any games on it today?

If it is still jumping the ball count, you could try looking at the following switches on the motor.

Motor 1C Normally Closed White +Blue / Blue + Black wire
Motor 2B Normally Closed Black + Yellow / Blue + Black wire
Motor 4C Normally Open Brown + Black / Blue + Black wire
Motor 4C Normally Open Orange + Black / Blue + Black wire

Check if they switch from open/close (or close/open for the NC) when you rotate the motor and give each a clean with the flex stone. If one of these is not gapped correctly it might be causing the ball stepper unit to advance one to many positions.

Regards Derek

Glad it arrived safely wouldnt have been the first part for aus post to lose. Let us all know how you go installing it.  My advice would be remove either the 10 or 1000 points reel and put the new reel in its place then one at a time unsolder and transfer the wires from the original to the new from top to bottom or vice versa that way a quick look and you will know you put it in the right spot

Yeah the only problem with that is that the other reels have circuit boards on them so its not like for like... I think i need to just label the crap out of everything...  !@#
