Gorgar display wiring
« on: September 01, 2010, 11:53:29 PM »
Not sure how or where to ask this so I'll try here.

I have a problem on my Gargor where the wiring behind the backglass has scratched the back of same.
Best I can tell is someone has fixed? a display or two and then left the wiring 'untidy' when it was put back.

Would someone who has a Gargor in original type condition be able to post me a picture of how the
harness is layed out?
As far as I can tell there are no extra holes for cable clamps that have been left out, but something is definately wrong
and I'd rather repair it right the first time.

I'm not looking forward to touching up the BG as my colour matching sucks, so I want the wiring right if I manage to do a decent job on the glass, it doesn't scratch through again.
Lets go Brandon!

To get the wireboff the glass you need to remove and bend the wires.
I'll pull the glass of mine tomorrow for you

Thanks Daniel,
I appreciate that, should have mentioned I wanted the pic because I think the wiring has been routed incorrectly too.
Cheers,

Had same issue on mine 48, used a few small cable ties here and there and curled the wires/looms back under the plugs of each display.

Cheers
Dave

Thanks Mate.
That's the answer.
That loom of predominately purple wires goes under the other loom on mine,
I think someone has changed something for some reason.
Also there is a major tangle to the left of the credit board that actually covers two globes.
At least now I can copy your layout and get it a lot 'flatter'.
Cheers for that,
Lindsay

OK here's how I fixed it, .
I used 5 of those plastic cable clamps and a handful of cable ties,
Also re-routed a couple of cables and moved it all as far as possible away from the globes.
Thanks to all who helped me out.
