[WA] Found, project pin
« on: September 22, 2010, 06:08:25 PM »
Hi all,
I've been into arcades for a long time and just getting into pinnys
Big thanks to Joe Tripoli for having me down there a few times to really let the pinball bug take root
and to Maxwiz for taking me under his wing   ^^^

What I'm after right now is a cheap local project pin to get me started
Something that is working or close to it would be preferable
I don't want something completely trashed and I don't want to be spending lots of time and $$ trying to track down hard or impossible to find parts

I'm open to EM, SS, whatever as more than likely I'll fix up this first one and move it on to get something better once my financials are looking healthier
just want something to get me started at this point

In the mean time I'll be scouring the quokka every week

Cheers,
Ben

You cant go wrong with a pinball,it just knowing when to stop.

I still have my first project i brought and it still a project(playmatic= Loss of hair). Keep looking in the quokka as you find one sooner or later.

Will kept a eye out as well.

You probably didn't get the response you were after 'cause we want our projects for ourselves  :lol
Something will come up.

Have not been many bargains in Quokka for ages and when they do turn up they go super quick.
You really have to have the quokka at about 6am on a Thursday for any decent chance of getting one and even then I 've had times when I've been the first to ring only to have the seller call me back and say he's been offered more.

You may need to keep an eye on what comes up in Vic or NSW and ship it over .

Mark C is very reasonable with shipping costs - roughly $300 from Melb to Perth and also he knows how to wrap it properley so it arrives in 1 piece ( or many pieces if its a project game :lol).

Bikecity Warehouse have also had a few projects lately and they will be similar price for shipping.

My suggestion is give both guys a call and ask if there is anything coming up shortly.

Thanks for the advice Chris,
I'm going to be patient for a few more weeks looking for something local, but if I don't find anything I'll try your suggestion
Pins in the eastern states seem to be a fair bit more reasonably priced too... might work out about about the same cost getting one shipped in the end...  !@#

I really like the look of that king pin ;)
I'm going to give it a few more weeks of looking locally before I jump into something from over east though

Thanks for the heads up
