GTB Gland Slam - who's going to tell him he's dreamin?
« on: October 08, 2010, 10:24:46 PM »
I have good memories of playing a GTB Grand Slam back in the 70s. This one on ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Grand-Slam-Pinball-Machine-/220679320253?pt=AU_CoinOp&hash=item33618332bd ) with a buy it now of $3,800 has just got to be dreaming. Half this price would be more than enough.
Wanted: GTB Aquarius backglass. Any playfield bits and backglasses from any EMs - nothing is junk to me.

Overall - it is a nice machine - except those ugly legs !

Guess he is just fishing for newbie.

Not sure why there is a recent trend of severely overpriced EMs of late.

I would've expected to see nice newly chromed legs for that kind of money.

And i think they might've been a bit heavy handed with the webbing paint when they did the repaint, looks like the stuff that you can buy in a spray can.. or maybe im just being too fussy??  :lol

Not being fussy at all. If a seller wants to place a high price on an EM, the condition HAS to reflect the price. If a seller wants $3000+ for an EM -  then at least have the right Legs, flipper kits, replace the bumper bodies AND the bumper caps.

Otherwise - start the auction at $750. Because that is what it is worth (referring to the pictures supplied).

Are the blue rings surrounding the backglass meant to have that much black though them?

Is that blotchy black shit on the cab meant to be the subtle "Gottlieb style" webbing? WTF?

Legs are rubbish - my homemade saw-horses look better than that shit!

Maybe this dude is into "shabby chic"?  #@#

PS: Machine is in Carrum Downs somewhere, I can inspect it if you like?

I wouldn't waste my time unless he stops dreaming about the price though... (Tell him hard waste pickup is next month...)
Why is it called PMS?

Looked at his other items?

Timewarp BG (Framed and touched up - sounds rooted to me?) $255 BIN.

What about the $185 worth of McDonalds happy-meal toys?

Colours are all wrong - far too dark, and yes the webbing looks like its been spat on.

GRAND SLAM is a bloody great looking machine.. that one looks like the DIY version

Just checked it again on ebay. Can't believe it - no bids yet!
