KISS and PLAYBOY on eBay
« on: October 18, 2010, 04:32:24 PM »

If at first you don't succeed, bundle the KISS in with a Playboy and expect $17 K ?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ULTIMATE-PINBALL-MACHINE-PACKAGE-Mint-KISS-PLAYBOY-/110596767419?pt=AU_CoinOp&hash=item19c014bebb

Don't they look awesome together. Two really nice pins, but short of the "over descriptions". Now which KISS would this be ? The same once that has been sold for $10,000, or was it the one that sold for $11,000. I lost count !

How hard is it to look up ipdb.org and work out what color the Playboy's legs should be ? Chrome  @.@

Seriously, these machines should sell themselves and not need the long winded ingratiating descriptions and his friends sending him flattering questions.

Stay tuned for the next installment - KISS and Captain Fantastic !

Keep in mind the Playboy has a sticker for a playfield.

I would feel bad for anyone who paid $7000.00 for a Playboy with a sticker as a playfield.

Its mentioned in the ad, but in my opinion it makes it a parts machine only.

Couldnt agree more Marty... problem is that the KISS with the overlay sold for a record amount and this seemed to open the flood gates.

... Beyond me mate must admit

Was waiting for someone to see that tiny little detail - and kudos for his honesty on the auction, BUT ;

" Unlike KISS, new playfields are not available.  However this overlay has been professionally installed and really does bring this classic back to life."

Is that a PLAYBOY playfield ?

The Playboy looks good, but it is no where near restored, and it would play slow - only to wear out in a few years.

eBay is a funny place these days !

Or how about:

"Due to the amount involved, payment by Bank Transfer ONLY. "

Ummm, Don't the PayPal Nazi's can the auction for that?

Why is it called PMS?
Because "Mad Cow Disease" was already taken...

Maybe the person who reported me for the same thing will do it... seems they feel obliged to ensure we all adhere to the rules

Stay tuned for the next installment - KISS and Captain Fantastic !

Nino, had a hearty laugh!  You're not wrong.  But wait, maybe KISS, Playboy, and Captain Fantastic for $20K!  I could never, ever justify paying $7K+ for a pin, no matter how good it was.

It will be a relief once these sell for good.

I think a fully restored KISS can expect $7K and up. Playboy might be around the $5500 mark and will climb when Hugh goes to Playboy Heaven ! Nothing else from that era is really above $5K with the exception of MAYBE a restored Fathom.

"Restored" is in principle "returning the machine to its former glory". An overlay is NOT a restoration "part". A restored playfield with the art "restored" IS. A repro playfield is acceptable. Overlays are complete rubbish and will devalue the machine.

Exactly. Playfield is a 0/10.

Still no feedback on the Capt Fantastic which sold three times previously.

Guess it will hit eBay again
