Finally! Parity
« on: November 02, 2010, 08:46:23 PM »
Well we have been waiting long enough finally, the AUD = USD.
Will be interested to see how many people order more from the USA now.
Although there is little difference, its a mindset thing more than anything, now if it will go to about $1.04
it will be even better cover all those nasty PP and CC fees!
Lets go Brandon!

Yep -$1.04 -$1.05 is what they are forecasting.

Banks and Paypal will not value it over 98 cents - shifty bastards !

scummy paypal is saying 95 cents on its conversion rates. they always have to shaft you for a good 5 to 8 per cent.

but if u dont purchase by paypal, then your so called protection doesnt exsist. u get screwd both ways.

marco spec and bay area must pay for all of their staff costs with the profits they make on postage. shifty but smart if u own their business.  !*!

Paypal buyer protection only works through eBay purchases doesn't it?.

Also, you can change the funding option so your CC company/bank does the conversion instead.  Problem is, you dont know what it is until it shows up on your statement.

I just hope it's still this good if/when Gene asks for deposits on Kingpin.

It's not that easy to buy US $ in that amount (too little). If I knew which company he was going to use I could buy the draft now. But not sure, so might just have to punt it.

Could you buy US$ denominated travellers cheques now and then use them to buy the final draft when needed?  They may not offer that flexibility but might be worth checking with a bank.

spoke to my bank yesterday, asked ANZ Manager if I could purchase some USA currency.

Made arrangements with Manager to convert some Aussie to Greenbacks.

Also, you can prepay/buy any international flight tickets and accomodation up to 12 months in advance.

So, anyone going overseas in the next 12 months, go see your bank Manager, swap some Aussie for some George Washingtons, and see your local travel agent, as it will definately pay$ to prebook and take advantage of the Dollar right now. It cant last forever.  ^^^
