Weird fault with Firepower
« on: November 08, 2010, 05:50:56 PM »
Hadn't turned on my Firepower for a couple of months (sacriledge) .. turned it on , got the dreaded Audit mode . Turn off/on a couple fo time with door open , same thing. Found the backup battery (Lithium mod) was flat ... a bit weird in itself... changed that .. still Audit mode .. reseated the 5101 ? Ram .. forgot to use my earth strap . Game booted no probs but after turning it off and back on it had no memory (ie didn'r remember credits etc) .. its had a fiar bit of gameplay recently.. especially since our teenage daughters have become interested in it again past few days .. and now .. voila ! its memory is working again  !@#

I'd check the diode that protects the battery pack . (and play it more often)

G'day Dave , strange sort of fault.

Definitely change the diode , but you never know the 5101 may be a bit flaky , i'll post you a new one.
