Any ideas to ship a playfield from the US??
« on: November 23, 2010, 10:51:22 PM »
Four years ago I had a BH playfield sent over to Playfield Renovations. They had some troubles, so I finally asked if they could return it as is. It's 3/4 done, certainly something our local talent could finish. But the best shipping they could find was $428.00 using UPS. At that price I'm better off abandoning it, which is not the preferred option of course.

Regular mail will not take something that big. There were 2 other price they got but they were higher. ($566 and $586).

The size of the box and weight is 51x26x4 in inches / 19 pounds.

Any ideas??

It was a nice field to start with, the trouble was general - they are pretty much out of the game now.

I think one of the other quotes was Fed-ex unfortunately.

No, it's empty. Does seem heavy but it is a big playfield, and I'm sure they've shipped internationally before.

pack and send ? Could be a bit pricey.

Maybe send it to someone in the USA that you can trust to handle it for you ?

That was my thoughts, but I suspect they'll be up against the same shipping costs.

Do You not know anyone who might be going to the U.S. on holiday in the near future ?
Would be next to nothing for them to bring it back with their luggage for you.

Try this company:
http://www.hellmann.net/

I was told they have cheap rates from the US.
I haven't actually used them myself though.
