If you could choose your game theme....
« on: January 20, 2009, 01:18:26 PM »
OK, Coconut Island is all but done. The theme of the second game is locked in (sorry, it's going to be unveiled when it's done, so don't ask! :).

So game number three - what would you like to see? The four examples cover a couple of things - Wayne's World is a personal favorite of mine as the characters, possible animations, humour etc seems to me to lend itself to a game. Disneyland is something one to remain unnamed member has suggested to us, Harry Potter seems to have a wide appeal, and I love Top Gear!

But don't let those influence you (although before voting as a condition of entry you must stare at my avatar for fifteen seconds). Post anything you think would be a great pinball game.

left field suggestion but i would love a conspiracy theory type of pinnie... New World Order, freemasons, eye over the pyramid etc. I guess thats just for something different... again i should probably leave it up to the experts but its kinda got me thinking about features and things to shoot for.

I voted for Harry Potter, the theme sells itself. I think it would appeal to both kids and adults, there are many different characters that could be tied into the game, I can't believe a machine hasn't been built around this theme already!

out of that list

Harry potter

but i do like the idea stern did  with shrek  a re run of parts from Family Guy

maybe do a Wiggles   with the Indy conversion ??

and only make a few hundred  , like shrek

I think we need more kids  pins  to bring the younger  ones  in to play

just my thoughts

I voted for Wayne's World, as I think one of those two nuts was me in another life !

The scene where they are driving and "headbanging" to Bohemian Rhapsody is the FUNNIEST 30 seconds of any movie.

Dumb and Dumber would be a funny theme as well, But WW reminds me of when I was young and had long hair  $#$

A WW next to an Austin Powers would be hilarious.

After playing several games, for me humor kind of makes it. Serious themes are OK, but not nearly as appealing as stuff that leans pretty heavy on humor.
For that reason, the one I'd pick from the list is Wayne's World.
But I voted "other" because no matter what anyone else says, I always have a better idea.  <.>

I'm thinking "Sanford & Son". Gotta love that theme song, and you could add a bunch of other blues and funk in the game. Lots of cheezy, worthless, funny junk to choose from for toys. Heart attack mode, steak dinner mode, ping pong at the lodge mode, Lamont takes the Soul Train mode, hide from Esther mode, Dozennaire mode, Strike it rich and lose it all multiball. You could add stuff from other era shows too, just because it would be cool to hear some Beverly Hillbillies stuff pop out from nowhere.

Oh yea...

Not bad at all..

I thought Stern could have done a Metallica Pin - I think they opted for T3 instead.

AC/DC ramps would have been cool - "Highway to Hell"  &&

I don't know if making a Shrek pinball from FYG and 3 versions of Nascar/Grandpix / Dale whatever Jr was
a great idea (theme wise) but at the same time I did think  when Stern made Elvis that they did miss a Chance
of doing a limited run of  different bands so that they got more appeal hence more sales

I think a limited run of ACDC, Metallica, maybe even a new Kiss game would have sold ok

and follow that doing one   new band each year say 500-600 games at a time

ACDC would kick arse!

I always wondered what a Top Gun pinball would be like. Would have slayed them in the 80's.
