"My last sale was just before Christmas (yes these machines don’t grow on trees"

Apparently for this seller they do grow on trees!

Just before I start, I think it is indicitive of this seller's profile, when the 5 or 6 collectors I know don't bother to call me about this machine. In other words, they already know these "restored" KISS machines are not restored to original quality.

What I would like to mention, is that if the description was not misleading and the self promotion was removed this would be a half decent effort. The moment the overlay was installed, the game actually was de valued. It is a repainted KISS with an overlay. Nice, bit worth maybe $4000 - $5000. I don't think THIS KISS is another one of his machines that didn't sell and was relisted.

I think I've done this serveral times before, but this seller needs to remove the words "original" and "mint" from his descriptions. The following are NOT ORIGINAL ;

"Coin Door, Side Rails, Shooter Rod, Coin Door trim, Carriage Bolts, and all other stainless steel parts have been Buffed and Shined to give them that original factory look"

Coin doors, side rails, coin door trim and all other stainless steel parts are GRAINED from factory - NOT "buffed".  !@#

"The legs have been Re-Painted Gun-Metal-Hammered Gray"

Original legs were powdercoated from factory. You can still buy repro legs that are perfectly matched. They are ALSO the WRONG color. They are meant to be charcoal  %.%

"The Coin Door was completely dismantled and each piece was individually buffed to a shine. It looks really great – almost a mirror finish."  !@#

Hang on - this was already incorrectly mentioned !

"BRAND NEW PLAYFIELD Overlay! This is not one of the cheap looking Arcadegraphix overlays, this has been made by Herb Silvers at fabfan.   The process involved was also not one of those cheap ‘stick over the top’ of the original playfield jobs.   "

An overlay is an overlay. I don't care who made it - that does not make it more credible. AGAIN - Playfields were silk screened from factory, therefore = NOT ORIGINAL. It will play like a tired machine. SLOWWW..

"New Drop Targets"

ORIGINAL game had tombstone style drop targets. These are "in line" Drop Target as used first on Paragon or Harlem Globetrotters. Not original..

"As stated, the autographs are ORIGINAL, all hand signed in pen.   It is not a copy, not a print, not a forgery and has been laminated to protect it. "

Sorry, I'm a MASSIVE KISS fan with tens of thousands of dollars worth of memorabilia. I have personally met the band several times and have many signed articles worth an absolute fortune. That is NOT Gene's signature.

"KISS machines are becoming increasingly harder to find hence the reason why their values continue to increase.   I doubt however, you will EVER see a machine like this again (unless it’s one of mine)....…so if you have been holding out for ‘The Ultimate Machine’ this is the one"

Utter crap - the "ultimate" contradiction by this seller. He has three previous KISS eBay machines (I think we worked out two were the same game). KISS machines are EASY to find, but they are HARD to find CHEAP. There has always been at least ONE KISS machine on eBay continuously for the past 3-5 years. I know that there are at least two KISS machines BETTER that this game and they are both restored to original specs - nothing like this game.

"Inspections of this MINT machine are welcome, but limited. "

Just in case someone like me picks up all the flaws  <..>

I might sound a bit "over the top" - but the seller's description is misleading. It is a repainted KISS with an overlay. Looks nice, but he need to cut the BS and let the market decide the price. I'll bet this will be in another package with a Playboy in 6 months  *%*

If you ignore the first and third pictures (as they appear to be from a different machine), none of the playfield GI light area's are painted white.  They are just timber.

Buy it and put another playfield in it, then it wouldn't be too bad.

that pf overlay DOES look a bit suss!! especially around the inserts, look at the registration errors with the black circles around them, especially the pic of the bonus inserts, how crappy does THAT look  :lol Also the font on the same inserts looks wrong, should be bolder/thicker looking.

Didnt realise that that style of drop target was wrong for this game, i used them on my own Kiss  @.@ mainly as thats all i could find and thats the type of target it had when i got it, so i just assumed thats what they had originally. I just had a look at a flyer pic which confirms what Nino said, tombstone style targets.

Last auction there were a few questions that the seller answered, to his advantage - but if he was asked about the GI areas, he would avoid answering them.

I've seen many KISS machines with the new "in line" targets, as they were the only style sold by the major sellers. I have no problem with them being in a restored machine, but I have a problem when the seller suggests that they are "original". Same color, but different style. PBR have the tombstone on "special order".

Overlays look crap and the feature lights need to be VERY bright to allow the light through. A seller in the USA used to sell them with fluros under the playfield. That was the only way it even looked half decent.
