It will be interesting if Stern go that way or a full LCD screen, aint competion great, good or bad we are moving forward again, if it doesn't work they can always revert back, but there are some great ideas coming out

I can confirm that there is a TRON LE No: 20 of 400 in Belmont (Newcastle / Lake Macquarie area) at the Gunyah Hotel and is setup as a 6 ball game for $2. I went to Pinballs R Us around Feb this year in Sydney and played there range of recent Sterns and I thought TRON was so much better and quite enjoyed, especially over the Avatar pinball, Spiderman etc, though I haven't played the Ironman which looks good from videos I have seen.

The left ramp does seem to eject the ball beyond the ramp when hitting it at a particular angle and speed - I left after 5 games with the ball wedged between 2 ramps. It didn't stop play but it reduced the multi-ball play. Also the bottom left slingshot bracket was in front of the rubber which changed the game play a little which was like that before I had any games. (you can see the left side of the ramp and sling shot for the above issues noted.
The back glass looks good - 3D effect like the Avatar
Very fast and the hollow rope (fluorescent type) around the ramps looks awesome - changing all sorts of colours throughout certain features in the game.
The playfield is pretty good in layout and can see the ball any where on the field which I prefer, even at the back - might be different once the ramps scuff up though.
The back disc spinner definitely winds the ball up - wonder how ball swirl will go on the playfield after a while out in the field.
Also it looks like they have put additional mylar down where the ball drops down the lower right arcade hole and shoots out again which is a good idea.
I don't like the Stern score display - red and very pixelated.

If you get a chance definitely have a go - definite improvement on some of the other Stern games.

The Gunyah Hotel is holding a Tournament on this game in August with the winner winning lots of Alcohol but also a place in a up and coming Sydney tournamanet with the winner of that getting a new TRON pinball.........mmmmmmm

I just checked that review and the LE has the chrome coin door, chrome flippers and just wondering if the standard version has the lighting tube around the ramps - if it doesn't the look would really be different. Anyone know if the standard has the tube lighting on the ramps?

Wow I saw the cabinet was really good on the stern site, but wow the playfield is an even bigger improvement!
Anyone know if the standard has the tube lighting on the ramps?
I don't think so, if I remember correctly it is a clean game with leds, not anywhere as many colours!

Here's another photo more for the score but you can see the tubing is a blue colour. This tubing flashes and does about 6-8 colours - really fits the movie theme almost sets it apart from other pinballs with the ramp lighting.
