DMD Annimations-Surprises ?
« on: May 25, 2011, 04:20:14 PM »
I wanted to start a new thread and ask people about any surprises you may have had when playing a DMD pinball machine.

What i mean, is that when u are playing a game on a DMD pinball, you only really see about 30 percent of the DMD annimations.
When u stand back, and watch someone else play a game, you see alot more of the DMD and see things you have never seen before.

Last night, I was playing doubles on my Tales from the Crypt, and i was surprised to see the Cryptkeeper cutting peoples heads off with a really cool chainsaw, and a mummy chasing people in a mummy mode/mission etc.
I did the same on Last Action Hero, and saw things on the DMD i havent seen before over 50 games.
Stand back and watch someone else play a full game on your DMD pinball and see some new DMD annimation surprises.  ^^^

CV - The DMD is virtually part of the playfield and you can ALWAYS watch what is going on simultaneously. "The amazing Roonie" is one of my favorite modes on a Pinball - "G'Day Mate" !

Easily the best mode, and it was pointed out to me by MartyJ is the video modes on Capcon Breakshot. On the Match feature - if you win - the Moose "moons" the player. If you loose, the ball falls between the ample boobies of the female player in the game. VERY funny and Sexy !

Not my favorite bit of the game, and my Mrs hates it!

Capcom were miles ahead - take a look at Flipper Football one day and see the best DMD animations ever.

Not sure if it has been mentioned on AP, but a hidden animation from the Indiana Jones pinball has been discovered after 18 years - Michigan J "dancing" Frog.

You can activate the hidden animation with this method:

1. Start the game with both flipper buttons pressed.

2. Get to the mine cart video mode and start as normal.

3. Count the right hand gates...Crash through the fourth right side gate.

wow, do you have to do all this while standing on one leg and holding your left nut while rubbing your tummy and scratching your head on a Tuesday afternoon?
why do they make these hidden displays so hard?  :lol

Excellent DMD annimations on Indianna Jones for sure.  ^^^

Batman Forever and Frankenstein have excellent DMD annimations as well due to the huge Dot Matrix Display size. Clarity on Batman Forever is espescially good.

Lots of surprising stuff out there for sure.     Keep them coming guys, hidden or just normal great graphics welcome.  ^^^ ^^^

If I knew what that meant I'd probably be able to answer the question!!
