Shopping out a Devil Riders!

What I will be doing;
Stripping off all parts on the top of the playfield
Re-glue loose inserts
Clean plastic posts, plastics
Polish all fasteners, stainless steel parts
Replacing all lamps with LED’s
Clean switches
Clean Target assemblies
New rubbers
Disassemble and clean all assemblies from under the playfield, Flippers, Pop Bumpers, Sling Shots, Drop Targets, Ramp Lifts
Clean inside of cabinet
Disassemble and clean coin door
Fix issue with displays

After visiting Adelaide earlier this year and seeing Devil Riders beautiful collection of Zaccaria machines, I decided that I would have to diversify my collection and get a Zac (or 3) for myself
Picked this game from Tony at The Pinball Shed
For a machine that is almost 30 years old, it is in good condition

This is my first Zac
Tony ships, it cost $150 to go from Queensland to the depo in Ballarat

Interesting game. I've never played a Devil riders, but the artwork is stunning. In fact, most Zacs are very appealing in terms of artwork and gameplay, but their electronics leaves a lot to be desired (that's why I don't fix them).

From memory, this game has two backglasses and a Neon in-between them ?

I'm looking forward to your updates, Pete - This could be a really nice game when finished !

Hi Pete    It looks like a fun game      It will be good to see your progress  and looking at your list it looks like it will be new again .I dont own any Zacs   I played Mr Pinboligist    Universe  and it was a lot of fun

Did Tony get this from one of his containers ?   $150 is a good price  for freight     I payed 350 for my howzat from benalla   to port macquarie      he must of seen me coming     howzat

+1 every Zac SS game i have ever seen or played has had awesome artwork with really vibrant colours, really cool game play and cool/unique sounds. as for the electronics i have found them to be BASTARDS to repair

Devil Riders is one i havent played before but it definitely looks like it'd be fun to play. Keen to see the progress updates on this one

I have been doing little pieces here and there

I have removed the targets from the lower playfield
Cleaned the targets and tumbled the metal parts

Tumbled pop bumper parts (3 more to go)





I had being trying to remove the upper playfield, but to do this I need to first remove the flippers
As you can see from the picture, the assembly for the upper flippers, drop targets, ramp lift and a pop bumper are really close together
Being unfamiliar with Zaccaria’s I am wanting to do one assembly at a time, but that does not seem possible
So to remove the flipper, the ramp lift had to be removed first.

Then I get out the Allen keys to unscrew the grub nuts
Of course, one is missing, so I have to buy a new set
These do not fit either
Italian machine needs metric Allen keys

So, after mucking around all week, the upper playfield is off

Hope you didnt do what i did with my DR and thats take the upper flippers off by removing the grubs from below. I had so many problems with these as they were done up real tight and a pain to get to. Then when off i realised the top of the flipper pops off and you undo the nut....DOH!!!

Tried that, I undid the nut but the flipper did not want to come off,
not knowing Zaccaria's, I did not want to force it and break the flipper

Ive just about finished a Pinball Champ and a Soccer Kings... should post up some pics.... Zacs are great!

After searching the forum, it came up that haveing two tumblers works
about 8 hours in Walnut, then 3 hours on corncob
