I think is is more that not many have survived
Bally was extremly cheep at that time, the cabinet is not as strong as they were years before

Not many were exported to Australia and operated (if any). The "Strange Science" games in collections these days are container pins brought over from Europe (for the most part). Ballys circa 1982 - 1989 were very rarely on route. 1990 onwards was when they started again - around the time of Bugs Bunny, Party Zone and Gilligan's Island. The Bally's produced between 1984 - 1988 are interesting and collectible titles - Party Animal - produced for the US Market under the Bally/Midway name and the Euro Market version Bally Wulff. Special Forces, Elvira and the Party Monsters, Motordome, Dungeons and Dragons, Radical, Blackwater100 - These are all games that don't have the high profile in Australia (exception being EATPM), because they were not commonly found in Arcades.

The first time I saw this game was at Marco's place (Pinfan). Prior to that, I'd never heard of it in Australia - so I'm sure you were VERY lucky to find one on route. There you go - learn something new every day !

There's one game from this era that I would LOVE to add to my collection - Bally "Transporter". I missed a really nice example 2 years ago (from Europe).

I am sure that mine is also Australian delivered
the coin inserts are for 60c and $1, so that rules out Europe and the USA
and the coin mechs are for Australian coins too

I played it (in the 80's) in an arcade in Swanston St, you went down stairs, to the left there was a Mc donalds, to the right was an arcade
They had an Out Runner that you sat in and it span around  ^^^
