I think most members would not have noticed, but the troll posts came from someone who had set up a United Kingdom email address, but posted from NSW. The extreme level of cleverness :) used to set that up that "shield" to posting location for the troll posts says something I suppose.

I reckon STERN does a fantastic job just staying alive in this poor economic climate where many have gone under. The titles are getting better. The games are pretty much easy to work on and are pretty reliable.

Stern's games are bringing alot of choice into the market place for people who have never played a pinny before. Perhaps the man came out here on a private trip, and was busy. Perhaps he didnt even come out. Hard to speculate. I cant knock the guy. He has done, and continues to do, alot for pinball.

Maybe the marketing could be better. Its up to Stern's Aussie distributors to help out here i reckon. Gary can only do so much. He has survived the Global financial crisis to date, that alone is worth a huge pat on the back.

The event was in NSW and we all know the pinball capital of the southern hemisphere is Melbourne, so it barely rates as important, now, does it?

I am also a member at AA also but spend 95 percent of my time here because the quality of the posts and all the helpful people here.

I don't see the point of bringing up the past and being negative - we should just stick to interesting factual info.

After reading this I went to AA to learn a little more before feeling the urge to post uninformed and interestingly there was 60 odd people in the comp and RGR (a member of AA) states,

"Also what was interesting was that 80-90% of the guys in the comp were not from AA. I told a many people about the site as possible so there should be a few intros soon."

This says to me a lot of people are pinball enthusiasts outside our forums but were given a heads up and invite based on some other priority by possibly AMD therefore blame can,t be payed on AP or AA, as it is what it is.

In relation to this forum, You only get out of something what you put in, therefore the guys that post on this site post post quality information, helpful and entertaining posts, so for the rest of us reading it is of high calibre and in turn a majority of us want to repay with the same type of posts. Keep up the good posts guys and this site will continue to be strong.

RoGeR is also a member here, and has posted a few times (34). Funnily enough he did advertise a comp on here recently (http://aussiepinball.com/index.php?topic=7096.msg93872#msg93872), just not the NSW Pinball Championship.

His preference is AA: "The traffic on this site is far less than Aussie Arcade so I do most of my posting on that site."

When we advertised at the Pinball Expo in Sydney that time (how may years ago was that now??) we had a massive surge in membership, so it is valuable to get the word out every now and then. Roger could have made people aware of this forum as well as AA if he so chose.

But it is almost guaranteed that:-

a) many members will have logged on a handful of times and then never bothered since
b) many members who do log on regularly have never posted or have got to 20 and stopped

All that is OK because there are many contributors who do post good stuff, and there is enough traffic to log in and read every day as I do.

I was a member at AA but I only have enough time for one forum and because this one is dedicated to pinball it made sense to stick here. AA serves its purpose, and there is no problem with being a member of both, I just prefer AP.
