You can get legs profesionally powder coated for only $6 a leg up here on the Gold Coast/Brisbane and u could always sandblast a leg or two in the backyard/over the grass/garden if u didnt want to get one powder coated.

The smaller cabinet MAY have a access port/hole in the rear side to perhaps slide say half of the leg into.?  I will have to relook at the smaller cabinet on monday when I am back at the shop.  The smaller cabinet is only $165.

SB-200 looks like the right size for legs etc. I think the price is excellent.

I'm interested in this setup as well. I would prefer a bigger booth to fit pinball legs, but I'd still be interested to see what people buy / use.

Pitty your not closer mate, I'd do them at work for free, your welcome to drop some off if you want

I work in the industrial scene and I thought I'd pass on an important safety comment.

The dust from a sand blaster (of any kind) is nasty for the body when inhaled.

VERY important to have some kind of vacuum for sucking that stuff up and keeping it out of the air you breathe as much as possible. Even a standard shop "wet/dry" vac will do MUCH better than letting the stuff just drift where it will. The commercial dust systems (some of which really aren't that expensive and can be used for your table saw, etc. too once you get one) do a pretty good job of it, but even a simple shop vac will cut down the amount dust in the air by a HUGE amount. Don't just let the stuff fly.

And in case some are tempted to claim safe experience to the contrary, just because you've done it plenty before and are still alive doesn't mean it's not good for you.

So be good to yo' body and make sure you budget in some kind of vacuum for the dust. I'll throw caution to the wind as much as the next guy, but you really do need to minimize the amount of sandblasting dust you inhale as much as possible.
I feel more like I do now than I did when I first got here.

Excellent advice Vinito. $165 for a commercial dust vacuum is what the same store quoted.  Your health is everything.

I have to get a $7000 operation in December because I didnt wear a face mask this last 7 yrs when i should have at work. The $5 facemask is looking very cheap at the moment. I will be buying the commercial dust vacuum for sure !

I was wondering how well these inexpensive blasting cabinets are sealed.

If you used one in your workshop, would the entire shop be covered in sand and dust?

I pictured building a cart on wheels to wheel my blaster outside, close the overhead door on the air hose, and blast in the driveway, then raise the door when done.

Only got mine last month are found my compressor was useless to use with this machine (8cmf).Decided to bite the bullet and get a new compressor so looked around, found what i wanted, same place that a brought the machine from.Checked with the bloke behind the counter and what i thought was the right one, wrong again. The one that i thought that would do the job was to small again so ordered what the spec said in the manual in big red one was required.

Works like a treat except I let my young bloke put it together,so now I have leaks all over the place to fixed as he didn't use the double side tape that was supplied.
You must get a dust vacuum or you will end up with everything covered in dust. Now I take it outside before I do anything.

Works like a champ and cleans up the parts quick and perfect.

Great to hear, and thanks for letting people know of your experiences with the compressor side of things.
Have fun.

Great advice, Craig. I went to the Dandenong factory and saw this sandblasting cabinet. It is perfect for hobbyists. But as Craig found out - you need to do some homework with the compressor etc etc !
