Return of the "Barcade"

Interesting article about the rebirth of Arcade amusements in bar settings in the US.

Interesting article.

Once again, if I was younger & richer, I would seriously consider doing a feasibility on this concept. Or possibly an unlicensed cafe, as new member Mick the pin was talking about.
Whatever happened to the guys (in Melbourne?) who sadly got burned out just before they launched one?

I attempted this 10 years ago. Didn't get off the ground because there was a massive demand for home pinballs and I could not keep up. I have the perfect place for it, so I will definitely be trying it again in 5 - 10 years. I think it is a great idea. Also, the demand for pinball AND a video cabinet is increasing. I think most video collectors SHOULD have one pinball, and pinball collectors should have one video !

There is one called Ground Kontrol in Portland that looks super cool, they get bands in and have heaps of arcade games on the ground floor and a mezzanine full of pins  ()

That looks absolutely brilliant  $#$
Had no idea it existed.
We are talking Portland Victoria, not Oregon?
To paraphrase our Admin "might be worth taking my first ever visit to that tiny state"  !^!

Thanks for the super pics.
