Perth Pinball Auction
« on: December 03, 2011, 06:01:49 PM »
Here's some shots I took this morning of the auction being set up.
The auction starts at 1pm tomorrow at the Claremont Showgrounds Ellie Eaton pavilion.
As usual there is a mixed bag of shit & good stuff, plus arcades etc.
Yes - that's me standing guard at the entrance.

Just got back from the auction after having some games and helping get some of the machines going.  As Max said, there is a wide variety of machines there with quite a few Williams Sytem 11 games that you don't see around too often.  Check out the Bally Playboy to see just how bad an overlay can look...

Worth a visit if you are at a loose end on Sunday, but remember if you want to buy to check the machine carefully and set yourself a maximum price before bidding begins (keeping in mind the 'buyers premium').

Not too sure on the colour of the playboy cab respray. Deep burgundy,I don't think so ! If anyone is there tomorrow, check out the colour of the P/B cab its nearly as bad as the overlay.

Just saw this advertised on TV.
I hope to be there to have a look, I haven't even touched a pin in at least 15 maybe 20 years!
Won't be bidding tho, just don't have the space to have even one pin :(

Here is the link to whats on offer
http://amusementauction.net.au/

My understanding is that this lot is being auctioned on behalf of a local dealer.

Dont have time to go, it would be great if someone attending could whack up some prices when its all done. Interested to see what the Playboy and Lost world go for.

Just got back from the auction and I have to say it was a lot better organised than previous years.
Having said that, it was still a shambles. Many of the lots had gone missing or they couldn't find things and the auction list was wromg in many places which caused a bit of confusion.
Anyway enjoy the pics and see the list for what all the pins sold for.
Unfortunately I couldn't get a pic of every machine without someone in front of them but I did my best.

Most were a bit average but there was a few gems in there too.
None of the ringer pins sold, which was no surprise.

For those not up with the jargon "Passed in at $x" means that the auctioneer couldn't get a bid at the lowest the vendor wanted to start the bidding at.

It probably would have cleaned up quite well but needed new ramps, soccer ball and plastics.
Not worth $3200.

The best ones I think (besides the ringer pins) were Judge Dredd, The Flintstones and Dracula.

Every machine had faults but you kind of expect that at an auction I reckon.
