The pro is missing more features than ever and would not be worth the money imo.
With so many crucial features missing from the pro I can't see many of these being sold to homes, operators only I am tipping.
The LE's will sell quickly.

I can handle a pro without the spinning magnet if I had to, but not the nightcrawler pop ups as at a guess they will be a integral part of the game play. Stern did IM with a pop-up monger why can't they keep the pop up nightcrawler trolls for the same sort of $.

Or better still Stern should at least make a Premium with all the LE game play features (with pro cabinet and back glass art and black trim) so it allows the owners to pimp the cabinet out if they want. Having this sort of Premium allows everyone to upgrade and not for the lucky few. As good as the AC/DC Premium was it was still entering the LE in looks, back it down a little keeping cost down and probably making a lot more sales - come on GS.

Rough scenario (in the US) pricing should be something like
$4k for a pro
$5k for premium - full game play features
$6k for LE - full game play features, custom cabinet art, real backglass and custom trim
(note pricing is just a scenario but you get the idea)

I just don't get their model.

Stern is so disconnected so the LE sell out fast,then thats it, who gives a damn about xmen if your not one of the lucky 300.the pro sounds like just another stern influenced totally by gary sterns cost-cutting.

Agreed with all of the above. It would certainly make me more likely to buy any NIB if I was able to have and/or add to the options on the machine. I think if Stern want to limit people's options by not offering the same play features between different models of the same game then potential customers are more likely to choose an older game when looking for there next machine. Theres lots of good games out there cheaper than any Stern NIB.

Stern have been doing a photo shoot the last 8 or so hours but probably giving JJP a go then steal their thunder tomorrow or Friday. Or he is in a panic of how to make it look better than WOZ given he has a dmd.....

It's official, Stern have lost the plot and it's obvious that they only care about $$$$.

I think they are trying to stay under WOZ's price point of $6500 and a extra toy helps game and looks where as a shaker can be added later where a interactive toy probably can't.

I hope there adding the trolls to the pro playfield - wishful thinking.

Suggestion that photos will be released midnight US time ???? so I suppose check your regular websites at around 3pm or later today to see if this is true.

Insider has reported that the LE has sold out. Hopefully AMD have secured a few and not going to over inflate the price too much.

Bummer for us.

Insider has also said press release definitely late today (Chicago time) so could be between 8am and 4pm our time???

In a great new move by Stern, they want everything complete, pics, all info in the press release and all models shown all at once for customers to see and know up front. That's the latest word, don't shoot the messenger I'm just reporting for y'all.

I am still hoping that Stern is watching the various forums and re-thinking that maybe they should do a premium (hoping they do a premium = pro looking cabinet and backglass with the LE full featured playfield) Otherwise not a smart move by GS - as he will lose support and so many sales ebcause of gameplay and opportunity to the general public to own one.

Update from insider is that LE's will be shipped out the end of June / early July.

And Avenger due to be released around September.

As Most of you have seen by now Stern Pinball Inc. Has announced its latest game X-MEN! I have attached a Few pictures to this email but here is the Quick and Dirty of it.

This pinball will come in 3 Versions, 2 LE and 1 Pro Version.
The 2 Limited Versions will be Good - Wolverine(Blue Trim) and Evil - Magneto(Red Trim)

LE Versions Will Feature a Real Glass Mirrored back glass where the Pro will have a Standard trans light back glass.

From Stern's Anouncement:
"Our X-Men Pinball is based on the Comic Books, which have a tremendous
fan and collector following. The theme and art lend themselves to
Pinball. The art on our X-Men pinball is fantastic, bright, different
than any recent games. This game has a lot of mechanical action, with
great devices, magnets, etc.

We will make X-Men in 3 versions: 300 Wolverine numbered Limited
Editions, 250 Magneto numbered Limited Editions, and a Pro model.

I am attaching photos of the 2 Limited Edition models and the Pro, along
with a Features Chart. High res pictures are available at

The game photos show the right side of each game, there being some
different art and characters on the left side. X-Men Wolverine LE has
blue trim; X-Men Magneto LE has red trim.

There are 3 playfield pictures. One is the Pro playfield. Two pictures
are of the LE playfield; one has the right ramp in its normal position,
and one is showing the movement of the right ramp.

X-Men Limited Edition production will begin at the end of June. Pro
production will begin at the beginning of August, timed to reach our
export markets as the September selling season begins. "
