GnR shooter ramp ???
« on: May 30, 2012, 09:31:21 AM »
Hi all,

I have played someone else his GnR this weekend.
Here i notest that the shooter ramp went UNDER the R ramp, and mine is going Over the R ramp.
After some research on the web, it says that some of the early production models had a shooter ramp that was going over the R ramp.
Later in the production run they have change it after  becouse the ball didn't always got to the top.
Also that they made them in chrome and black powdercoat.

But looking at photo's on ipdp its all differend again, than the one I own ????
http://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=1100&picno=10181

Also the ball falls out of the shooter ramp on the PF from some height and the counter says 41816 games have been played, but still no PF wear ???
(I will put some photo's of the ramp on here later)

Can someone tell me more ????

On the IPDB link for Guns N Roses, scroll down to the bottom until you find the document ;

"Prototype, Sample, and Production Differences - Descriptive Text" - it is a word document.

This explains differences between prototypes and the production. The last Guns N Roses I looked at had the shooter ramp going OVER the Red ramp.

Thanks,

So....
the one on ipdb is the prototype ramp.
The one I own is a early production model ramp.
And the one I have played last weekend a later production model ramp.

But still ,that there is no PF wear after 40000+ games
I mean after the ball drops on the PF from about 10 cm height,(times 3 to 6 balls that's 120000 to 240000)without a scratch or dent.

Still I have had a look at everything I could find about this shooter ramp,I havend seen one like mine.
Did someone take a grinder and cut it of ,or was it made this way ???
(yes i know it needs a clean up)

I have had four GnR machines go through my garage and I haven't seen a launch ramp like that before.

Interesting. The shooter ramp is different on a game I looked at a while ago. It has the shooter ramp going over the AXL Ramp, but then not dropping from 4 inches, rather, the ramp kept going and turns 180 degrees before dropping the ball at a lower height.

That is the only type of ramp I have seen.

There are only 2 'documented' launch ramps for GNR, but I've seen 3, maybe 4, different ones!
