In need of a project - Melbourne
« on: March 02, 2009, 09:28:55 PM »
Hi guys,

Currently in desparate need of a project pin for myself.  Preferably something with a pf in generally good shape, but I don't mind a bit of work on everything else.  Would prefer something late 80's onwards.  I have around $1400 max to spend on this one, but will consider trading my LAH to help along the way.

I've been waiting to use that one!

Hmm, no the LAH would be to put towards a higher end project...I think a bare cab+backbox is a bit more of a project than I was looking for!

I'm keeping an open mind.  I think I wore a hole in Mark's concrete today walking around looking and thinking...

I'm looking for a player's machine....My Police Force was bought unplayed and wow did that pay off.  I really really enjoy playing it.  So anything similar (by Mr RITCHIE and Mr OURSLER) would be a big bonus.  Don't mind if its a Sys11 or WPC, Gottlieb, Bally.

Getaway and WCS94. Both fast and furious. Getaway is a Ritchie pin, WCS94 is a Popadiuk pin.

Most people bag it but I love Demolition Man - my first ever pin. DCS sound and awesome ramp shots. This machine can be had fairly cheaply now I would think. Don't know if you can find these with your $1400 budget though.

What about a Comet, F14, Diner or Taxi? All very good and cheaper titles.

Getaway was high on my want list.  Cab decals available, plastics available...I pumped serious dollars into it at the Ringwood Bowls when I was a young chap..Mark has a couple, but not sure about $$.  They do still fetch a high price..

WCS94...I never really thought about it.  I guess I had it confused with Striker Extreme soccer as well and put it in the same bucket...BUT I will definately try to get a play.
I looked at a Demo Man (right before the LAH).  I played it for a bit, super clean nice machine (at Marks again) but it didn't grab me.
F14 - Yes.
Diner - I've only seen these with big prices.  Have not played one as yet...Waiting for one to pop up at Marks to play.  The last one I saw was at BCW well over $3,000...but that was a few years ago now..
Taxi...Yes.  Quite similar to Police Force too.
The biggest problem is I've got a bit of the 'I want it now' syndrome....
You're quite right...$1400 wont stretch to 90% of the above titles.....

Yeah, I'd be surprised if you could pick up either a Getaway or WCS94 for under $2k even as a project. Ditto for Funhouse or Flintstones, Diner too I would guess.

Someone might have something suitable they are looking to get rid of.

I suspect the same.  Thats why I thought about trading in the LAH..Or I may just have to wait... !*!

Yep I'm looking forward to finding another 'keeper'.....

Hopefully the LAH will sell quickly (ebayed at moment) which will help towards purchase.

Good luck with sourcing a Getaway. This one is on my long-term wishlist. Hope you can find one reasonably priced.

Great choice Marty, great music 'La Grange', the best toy ever put on a pinball machine (other than FG mini pin) love loading the supercharger with all three balls.
