pinsider in the know said this about the future Stern lcd's to be used.

"For the record, Stern has in mind of a LCD the size of about the Sega DMD days. Think Baywatch, Frankenstein, Batman Forever size. Slightly narrower. So they would keep the traditional translite."

Fact - Led Zepplin is one of historys biggest selling bands in the last 50 years. Who buys pinball machines, people who are mostly in their 40's to 60's.

If it was made as good as AC/DC, it will sell like hotcakes and I would buy one in five seconds. The music is awesome like AC/DC. A very smart format for anyone who has played AC/DC with a open mind will see the numbers of sales for a LED Zep add up real quick.

Fact - Star Trek - Billion dollar industry. All star trek machines in the past have sold very well. Another title I would buy in 5 seconds.

Licenced themes are a smart way to go, because all these topics are known to billions of people.

example, ask anyone on the street about Led Zep, or star trek and they know instantly what u are talking about in 50 countries, mention circus voltaire, and no-one in the general mass public will have a clue what u are talking about. Licenced themes sell for those reasons.

Exciting times ahead. Even though i am selling machines, there are some titles i would still buy if they were done right.

Please please please, I hope Stern make both Led Zep and Star Trek as the next couple and take ya time about it too.
I have absolutley no interest in either of these titles but it would give me time to save for a theme I am keen on.

There is talk it could be KISS as people are paying $4k for some short run kiss book so there are some fanatics willing to spend the dollars. See if Gene can agree with a licence.

Another no brainer, absolutley no interest pin for me but I hope Stern do it and the other  ((( titles of Zep and Trek and do it sooner rather than later and before the Avengers.

What are they thinking? just because a movie "takes off" at the box office does NOT mean everyone will buy the pinny as well....for f**ks sake stern......
Merchandising T-shirts, cups, drinks & lollies under the movie name is already gettin' tired, how do they really expect to influence that many people to buy a pinny?

The sooner a pinny comes out with a fleshlight-pussy in the the coindoor, the better.....then we'll ALL buy them ;-)
Pinny manufactures have been f**king us for ages, about time we f**ked 'em back    :lol :lol :lol

Neoace from Pinside stated today:
"I have it on good authority that Stern's production schedule for the remainder of the year is as follows:
October: TRON
November: Avengers
December: more TRON"

PinballCustoms from Pinside stated today that Avenger info will most probably be released around 23rd September which is timed around a pinball show and around the release of Avengers Blueray in the US.

That would mean we wont see the LE until around xmas and the pro in the new year. Plenty of time for me to save up again.
Bring on the Avengers, we just need concrete news on who is designing it. If Borg or Ritchie are designing, it will be sweet.
Please not gomez.

Gomez is doing Avengers.

Ritchie did AC/DC.
Borg did x Men
Gomez has ben doing Avengers.

But the design is apparently a killer and close to the layout of X Men with a reverse of the pops to the top and a lower 3rd flipper to the opposite side.

Every design has to get past the team, so no one single designer gets the every decision, its more like a collaboration once the basic design gets done by one person. The other deigners come in at the end and make some tweaks from a team effort before Gary says yes. That way, no stinkers get passed and nothing gets released these days with one ramp on a crappy budget like Avatar which was fun but basic. As a designer told me, give me the time and a decent budget and u get a great pin. Give me no money, no time and u get budget.
All designs are getting alot more man hours , bigger budgets and more toys n features.

Avengers will be great ! Thats what i have heard on the grapevine !

I added something to my last post which will ease ya mind Daz about the design n budgets of a pin, which will now help Gomez design a winner since he did the transformers.

He has more $$ and more time. It should be a very nice machine.

We will see, I am not holding my breath with gomez. He had every chance with TF and produced a turkey.
Lets see how it turns out and plays, here is hoping it is just as cool as SM, IM and XM, otherwise it will be a weak link in the MARVEL pinball universe.
